BMC air filters are designed and produced to ensure a higher air flow than original paper filters. In F1, for example, BMC cotton filters minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for full exploitation of maximum power. Therefore the benefits of replacing the original paper filter with BMC cotton air filter, produced using the same technology and materials as the F1 air filters, are evident.
DESIGN AND MATERIALS
Qualified engineers using advanced software and expert technicians using the latest technologies produce BMC air filters. An F1 filter must be very light, must be made of the best raw materials and must improve performance. For this reason we use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability.

The Porsche part is ugly roto-formed cheap plastic with parting lines whereas accurate replica is carbon fiber.
Saves 8 to 9lbs about 4Kg from the rear of all 964's and 993's. Will not work on C2 Turbos/965 cars.
Replaces blower motor assembly and ductwork and still allows plenty of heat just like the factory RS part.
Ultra cool clear coated real carbon fiber tube that really cleans up engine bay and makes working on engine easy.
Please Note:
All late model 993's 1996-98 (Varioram engines) require the 964 early type fan air guide shroud (as shown on exploded image)

Due to manufacturing tolerances and the nature of composite materials, minor trimming of excess material may be required during installation to ensure optimal fitment.
Fits:
Porsche 964 C2/C4 1989-1994
Porsche 993 C2/C4 1994-1997

**Please Be Advised: This product does not include the airbox itself, nor the air filter. It only refers to the lid.
Direct bolt-on replacement for the factory air box providing increased airflow and power. Made from anodized gold T6061 Aluminium. The gold colour mimics the yellow zinc plated OEM hardware that Porsche used in all their air-cooled cars from this era.
The design of this airbox cover was inspired by factory Porsche Cup Cars. After much on-track testing done by Fabspeed’s Owner on his 993 RSR, he found that using this open filter design netted the best power results, with more flow and cool intake temps.
SOUND:
The factory Carrera airbox is designed to muffle the induction note of the engine to keep it out of the cabin. This airbox lets all that glorious air cooled flat six induction growl into the cabin.
POWER:
With just this modification we saw a 6whp increase over stock thanks to increased airflow.
FEATURES:
Fits all 964 Carrera vehicles worldwide. Coupes, cabriolets, RS cars. (1989-1994)
Adds 8 ft/lbs of tq and 9.6 whp for improved throttle response
CNC'd T6061 Aluminum construction
Anodized gold to match the zinc plated hardware in the engine bay
Direct replacement for the OEM front cover lid to improve the induction through an open style intake system
Compatible with the BMC Air Filter upgrade
Simple 5 minute DIY installation, no cutting required
