- Porsche 957 Cayenne S / GTS 4.8L 2007-10
The Vent Breather Pipe is a OE MATCH component designed for the engine’s crankcase ventilation (PCV) system. This breather pipe routes crankcase vapours and excess pressure from the engine to the air/oil separator or intake system, helping maintain proper internal engine pressure and emissions control. It ensures correct fitment, reliable sealing, and long-term durability on Porsche 957 Cayenne S / GTS 4.8L models.

Diagram Ref No 10 (Diagram Ref No 11 And 12 Included)
What This Product Does:
- Vents excess crankcase pressure created during engine operation.
- Routes blow-by gases and oil vapours to the PCV/air-oil separator system for proper ventilation.
- Helps reduce stress on engine seals and gaskets by preventing pressure build-up.
- Supports proper emissions control by returning vapours into the intake system rather than releasing them.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Cracks or splits in the breather pipe can cause a vacuum leak, leading to rough running or unstable idle.
- A leaking breather pipe can trigger engine management faults related to vacuum system leaks, PCV system performance, air/fuel mixture imbalance.
- If crankcase pressure is not vented correctly, it can push oil past seals and gaskets, causing leaks.
- Oil vapours escaping from a damaged breather pipe may cause an oily smell in the engine bay.
- Symptoms may include oil filler cap difficult to remove, whistling/hissing noises, pressure-related seal issues.
- Breather pipes often fail due to age and heat, showing hardened plastic/rubber, cracking, broken fittings or connectors.
- If ventilation is disrupted, oil vapour can be drawn into the intake incorrectly, contributing to oil burning.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Prevents vacuum leaks, which can cause rough idle, poor performance, and fault codes.
- Maintains proper crankcase ventilation, preventing pressure build-up inside the engine.
- Helps prevent oil leaks, since excessive crankcase pressure can force oil past seals and gaskets.
- Protects engine performance and efficiency, by keeping the air/fuel mixture stable and reducing unmetered air entering the system.
- Reduces risk of secondary damage, such as damaged seals, intake contamination, or long-term PCV system issues.
