Designed as a direct OE-style replacement, it provides factory-correct fitment and dependable long-term reliability, making it ideal for timing system overhauls, engine rebuilds and preventative maintenance.
What This Product Does:
- Synchronises the crankshaft and camshaft(s).
- Maintains precise valve timing throughout the engine's operating range.
- Transfers rotational drive within the engine timing system.
- Supports efficient combustion and engine performance.
- Helps maintain optimum fuel economy.
- Reduces timing system noise when used with correctly functioning guides and tensioners.
- Restores factory timing system performance.
- Forms an essential part of the engine timing assembly.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Rattling or ticking noise from the timing chain area, especially during cold starts.
- Engine management or check engine warning light.
- Timing-related fault codes.
- Rough idle or engine misfires.
- Reduced engine performance.
- Difficult starting.
- Excessive timing chain stretch.
- Accelerated wear of chain guides and tensioners.
- Incorrect valve timing.
- Severe engine damage if the timing chain slips or fails.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The timing chain operates continuously whenever the engine is running and is subjected to constant mechanical loads, engine oil lubrication and repeated thermal cycling. Over time, the chain can stretch through normal wear, while its pins and links gradually deteriorate, reducing timing accuracy.
- A worn or stretched timing chain can allow valve timing to drift, resulting in poor engine performance, increased fuel consumption and engine management faults. If left unresolved, excessive wear may allow the chain to skip teeth or fail completely, potentially causing catastrophic internal engine damage on interference engines.
- Replacing a worn timing chain with the OE Match Timing Chain restores accurate valve timing and protects the complete timing system from unnecessary wear. Manufactured to OE standards using premium-quality heat-treated materials, it provides factory-style fitment, exceptional strength and dependable long-term reliability, helping maintain the performance, efficiency and durability expected from your Porsche.
