Offering an alternative to the Genuine Porsche component, this sump helps retain transmission fluid and maintain the sealed oil system required for smooth, reliable gearbox operation.
What Does It Do?
The gearbox oil sump forms the lower section of the PDK transmission housing, providing a reservoir for the transmission fluid.
It helps keep the oil contained within the gearbox, where it is used to lubricate moving components, assist cooling and support hydraulic transmission operation.
Why Is It Important?
Maintaining the correct transmission oil level is essential for the performance and longevity of the 8-speed PDK gearbox.
A damaged sump may result in:
- Gearbox oil leaks
- Reduced transmission fluid levels
- Increased operating temperatures
- Rough or inconsistent gear changes
- Accelerated internal component wear
Why Does It Fail?
Typical causes include:
- Damage from road debris or impacts
- Corrosion or material deterioration
- Worn or damaged sealing surfaces
- Incorrect tightening of mounting screws
- Accidental damage during servicing
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replace the sump if it is cracked, distorted, leaking or has damaged mounting or sealing surfaces.
It should also be inspected whenever the gearbox is serviced or signs of transmission fluid loss are found.
Checks & Installation
Inspect the gearbox mating surface, sump seal and mounting fixings before fitting.
Use the specified PDK transmission fluid and follow Porsche's correct filling and oil-level checking procedures.
Professional installation by a Porsche transmission specialist is recommended.
Key Features
- Designed for 8-speed PDK transmissions
- Helps maintain correct transmission oil containment
- Suitable for gearbox maintenance and repairs
- Replacement for damaged or leaking gearbox sumps
Porsche Panamera 971 / 976 PDK Transmission Oil Sumps & Gearbox Parts

DESCRIPTION:
A competition fully synthetic transmission oil formulated using a unique combination of improved chemistry and lower friction NANODRIVE additives to massively reduce friction vs a standard oil. The Millers Oils range of competition gear oils is fully synthetic and incorporates second generation NANODRIVE low friction technology to achieve winning results in both professional and nonprofessional racing.
APPLICATION:
Designed for the lubrication of competition gearboxes. Manual transmissions, synchromesh, non-synchromesh, sequential gearboxes, transfer gearboxes, transaxles and hypoid differentials without limited slip which require API GL4 or GL5 performance. Recommended for modern transmissions where fully synthetic oil is specified, especially for high performance road and track day applications. Hewland, Xtrac, Glebe Transmissions, ZF, Tran X, Elite Transmissions, Samsonas.
Note: Not suitable for plate type limited slip differentials, instead use CRX LS 75w90 NT+.
USER BENEFITS:
• Laboratory tests and results show up to a further 15% reduction in friction and up to a further 17% reduction in wear over the previous award winning NT range
• Exceptional cold flow properties for easier gear changes
• Fast lubrication flow to component extremes on start up
• Very good oxidation resistance and superior thermal stability
• Low friction/ low drag formulation to help reduce operating temperatures
• High film strength for maximum component protection

Diagram Ref No 25
Located at the bottom of the gearbox, the sump contains transmission oil and helps maintain a sealed lubrication system for reliable gearbox operation.
What Does It Do?
The oil sump forms the lower reservoir of the PDK transmission, holding the gearbox oil used for lubrication, cooling and hydraulic operation.
It also provides a sealed enclosure that helps protect the transmission against oil loss and contamination.
Why Is It Important?
The PDK gearbox relies on the correct quantity of transmission oil to operate efficiently.
A damaged or leaking sump can cause:
- Transmission oil leaks
- Low gearbox oil levels
- Increased transmission temperatures
- Irregular or harsh gear changes
- Premature wear of internal gearbox components
Why Does It Fail?
Common causes include:
- Impact damage from road debris
- Corrosion or deterioration
- Damaged sealing surfaces
- Incorrect installation or overtightened fixings
- Damage during gearbox servicing
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replace the sump if it is cracked, distorted, badly corroded or leaking from a damaged sealing surface.
Inspect the sump during PDK transmission servicing, particularly if gearbox oil leaks are present.
Checks & Installation
Inspect the sump mounting surface, fixings and sealing components before installation.
Use the correct Porsche-approved transmission oil and follow the specified filling, temperature and oil-level checking procedures.
Installation by a Porsche transmission specialist is recommended.
Key Features
- Replacement 8-speed PDK transmission oil sump
- Forms the lower gearbox oil reservoir
- Helps maintain a sealed transmission oil system
- Suitable for gearbox servicing and repairs
- Replacement for damaged or leaking oil pans
Porsche Panamera 971 / 976 PDK Gearbox Oil Sumps & Transmission Parts
The Porsche Panamera 8-speed PDK transmission requires a properly sealed oil sump to retain gearbox fluid and support reliable lubrication, cooling and hydraulic operation.
The transmission oil sump provides a replacement option for selected Porsche Panamera 971 and 976 models when the original gearbox oil pan becomes damaged or develops a leak.
