Lambda Oxygen Sensor. Porsche 958 Cayenne S 4.2L Diesel 2010-17 ❭ PAB998262
- Porsche 958 Cayenne S V8 4.2L Diesel (382Hp) 2010-17
Restore accurate exhaust-gas monitoring and dependable engine-management operation with this OE Match Lambda Oxygen Sensor. Designed for compatible Porsche applications, the lambda sensor measures oxygen content within the exhaust gases and supplies this information to the vehicle's engine-management and emissions-control systems.
Fits:
- Porsche 958 Cayenne S V8 4.2L Diesel (382Hp) 2010-17
Diagram Ref No 17
Also commonly known as an oxygen sensor, O2 sensor or lambda probe, this component plays an important role in monitoring combustion and exhaust conditions. Depending on its specified installation position, lambda sensor information can be used for air-fuel mixture control, emissions monitoring and/or catalytic converter supervision.
Accurate oxygen-sensor information allows the engine control unit (ECU) to recognise abnormal exhaust conditions and make or support the appropriate engine-management decisions.
Lambda sensors operate directly within the exhaust system and are continually exposed to high temperatures, vibration, moisture, combustion deposits and repeated thermal cycling. Over time, the sensing element can become contaminated or slow to respond, while the internal heater circuit, wiring and electrical connector can also deteriorate.
This OE Match Lambda Oxygen Sensor provides a high-quality replacement for a confirmed faulty, contaminated or slow-response sensor.
What This Product Does:
- Measures oxygen content within the exhaust gases.
- Sends exhaust-gas information to the ECU.
- Helps the engine-management system monitor combustion conditions.
- Supports accurate air-fuel mixture monitoring where applicable.
- Helps the ECU identify rich or lean operating conditions where applicable.
- Supports emissions-control system operation.
- Provides information used for onboard diagnostics.
- Can support catalytic converter monitoring depending on installation position.
- Helps detect abnormal exhaust-system behaviour.
- Supports efficient engine operation.
- Helps maintain controlled exhaust emissions.
- Replaces a slow, inaccurate, contaminated or failed lambda sensor.
- Provides an OE Match replacement for compatible Porsche applications.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Check engine or engine-management warning light.
- Lambda or oxygen sensor fault codes.
- Rich or lean mixture fault codes.
- Emissions-system warning messages.
- Increased fuel consumption.
- Rough or unstable idle.
- Engine hesitation.
- Poor throttle response.
- Reduced engine performance.
- Engine misfires.
- Uneven engine operation.
- Increased exhaust emissions.
- Failed emissions test.
- Slow sensor response during diagnostic testing.
- Implausible oxygen sensor readings.
- Intermittent sensor signal.
- Sensor heater circuit fault.
- Open- or short-circuit faults.
- Damaged or heat-affected sensor wiring.
- Corroded or damaged electrical connector.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Accurate lambda sensor information is important to modern engine-management and emissions-control systems.
- A lambda sensor does not necessarily fail suddenly. As it ages, its response can become progressively slower or its readings can become inaccurate. The sensor may therefore continue producing an electrical signal while no longer providing the ECU with sufficiently reliable information.
- Replacing a confirmed faulty OE Match Lambda Oxygen Sensor helps restore accurate exhaust feedback and dependable engine-management operation.

Sold each - 4 per car. These are positioned before and after the catalytic converters

Fits:
Porsche Boxster 987 2007>> (before and after catalytic converter)
Porsche Cayman 987C 2006-08 (before and after catalytic converter)
Function:
The Oxygen Sensor (also known as Lambda Sensor) is located in the exhaust manifold and measures the amount of unburned oxygen in your engine's exhaust. Based on the amount of oxygen, it sends a signal to your engine computer which then adjusts the air/fuel mixture for optimum engine performance and emission control.
Failure Symptoms:
Excessive fuel consumption, a faulty oxygen sensor can waste 30% of your fuel.
Driveability problems, such as engine surging or hesitation.
High hydrocarbon emissions, failing an emissions inspection.
The engine warning light may be on or service flag displayed.
The ecu/computer stores a mixture-related fault code.
When the oxygen sensor has stopped functioning completely, the catalytic converter may overheat and fail
Maintenance/Service:
Test and/or replace every 30,000 miles.
Perform periodic emission checks.
Watch for service light.
Vehicle manufacturers recommend periodic inspection and replacement of oxygen sensor.
