The air filter cleans incoming air before it reaches the engine intake system. A clean, correctly fitted filter helps support smooth running, efficient combustion, throttle response, and long-term engine reliability.
Functions
• Replaces the engine air filter
• Filters dust, dirt, and debris from intake air
• Helps protect internal engine components
• Supports correct airflow to the intake system
• Helps maintain smooth running and performance
• Suitable for routine service and preventative maintenance
• OE Match replacement for Porsche 911 intake service.
Why Replace This Part?
Air filters become dirty and restricted over time as they collect dust, road dirt, and airborne debris. A blocked or worn filter can reduce airflow, affect performance, increase fuel consumption, and allow contamination into the intake system if damaged. Replacing the air filter regularly helps keep the engine breathing clean air.
When to Replace This Part
• Routine service interval is due
• The air filter is dirty, clogged, damaged, or oil-contaminated
• Engine performance or throttle response feels reduced
• Fuel economy has worsened
• Intake system service is being carried out
• The airbox has been opened for inspection
• The vehicle is undergoing Porsche 911 maintenance or restoration.
Where it fits on the car
This air filter fits inside the engine air filter housing / airbox on Porsche 911 models from 1972 to 1983. It forms part of the engine intake system.

Includes special BMC detergent and an oil applicator - in either spray bottle or liquid form.
HOW IS A BMC FILTER REGENERATED?
We recommend using original BMC kits only, as other products may not be effective or may damage the filter permanently, thus invalidating the warranty.
We recommend regenerating the filter (washing + oil application) every 20.000 – 25.000 km to ensure best performance and long service life.
This value is a rough estimate and can vary based on the climatic conditions and the ground on which the vehicle is used (sand, dirt roads, etc.).
The various steps to be carried out in order to regenerate the filtering element are indicated in the instructions contained in the regeneration kit.
