The steering rack is a vital part of steering system, converting steering wheel movement into precise control of the front wheels. Operating through a rack-and-pinion mechanism, the pinion gear on the steering column engages a toothed rack, translating rotation into lateral motion that turns the wheels. In power-assisted models, hydraulic or electric support reduces effort, delivering smooth, responsive, and accurate steering performance.
