Always check the required Porsche engine oil specification and viscosity for the individual model before ordering.
MoS2 forms a highly resistant lubricating film across
rubbing and sliding metal surfaces inside the engine. Combined with the 10W-40
semi-synthetic base oil, this provides rapid lubrication during cold starts and
helps reduce friction once the engine reaches operating temperature
What Does MoS2 Leichtlauf 10W-40 Do?
Engine oil creates a lubricating film between moving components, reducing direct metal-to-metal contact and helping control friction, heat and wear.
LIQUI MOLY adds MoS2 solid lubricant to provide an
additional high-load lubricating film on internal friction surfaces. This is
particularly beneficial during starting and warm-up, under heavy engine loads
and in stop-start driving conditions.
The formulation is designed to provide:
- Excellent protection against wear
- Rapid lubrication after a cold start
- Reduced internal friction
- Good cold-start behaviour
- Excellent engine cleanliness
- Stable viscosity
- Good resistance to ageing
- Excellent emergency-running properties
- Reduced oil and fuel consumption
LIQUI MOLY describes the oil as a special development combining low-friction engine oil technology with the additional protection of MoS2 solid lubricant.
Why Use MoS2 Engine Oil?
Molybdenum disulphide is a solid lubricant that forms a protective lubricating film on metal surfaces. This provides an additional layer of protection alongside the conventional oil film.
This makes MoS2 Leichtlauf particularly suitable for engines where reducing friction and protecting heavily loaded internal components are priorities.
The oil can be used in petrol and diesel engines and has been tested for both turbocharger and catalytic converter compatibility. LIQUI MOLY particularly recommends it for vehicles without a diesel particulate filter.
Specifications
Viscosity: SAE 10W-40
Oil type: Semi-synthetic low-friction engine oil
Solid lubricant: Molybdenum disulphide (MoS2)
LIQUI MOLY recommends the product for applications
requiring:
- ACEA A3
- ACEA B4
- API SL
Always follow the vehicle or engine manufacturer's required viscosity and oil specification before use.
Suitable Applications
LIQUI MOLY specifies MoS2 Leichtlauf 10W-40 for petrol and diesel engines, including naturally aspirated and turbocharged applications. It is particularly intended for vehicles without a soot/particulate filter and has been tested for compatibility with catalytic converters.
For Porsche applications, always confirm that SAE 10W-40 and the relevant performance specification are appropriate for the individual engine before use.
LIQUI MOLY MoS2 10W-40 Engine Oil for Porsche
Choosing the correct engine oil is essential for maintaining lubrication, controlling wear and protecting internal engine components. For Porsche engines where an SAE 10W-40 oil meeting the appropriate specifications is required, LIQUI MOLY MoS2 Leichtlauf combines semi-synthetic engine oil technology with additional molybdenum disulphide protection.
The MoS2 solid lubricant forms a high-load film on internal metal surfaces, complementing the conventional lubricating properties of the oil. LIQUI MOLY specifically highlights its protection during cold starting, warm-up, extreme loads and stop-start operation.
The product is available as LIQUI MOLY 2626 in a 1-litre container and LIQUI MOLY 2184 in a 5-litre container, allowing customers to select the quantity appropriate for servicing or topping up.
Design911 supplies LIQUI MOLY engine oils, lubricants and maintenance products for classic, air-cooled and modern Porsche models. Always check the required Porsche engine oil specification and viscosity for the individual model before ordering.

Always check the required Porsche engine oil specification and viscosity for the individual model before ordering.
Particularly relevant for Porsche owners, Top Tec 4210
carries official Porsche C30 approval. Its low-ash formulation also helps
protect and maximise the service life of modern particulate filters. LIQUI MOLY
specifically developed the oil for selected Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen Group
vehicles requiring this specification and viscosity.
What Does Top Tec 4210 0W-30 Do?
Engine oil creates a protective lubricating film between moving engine components, reducing friction and helping minimise mechanical wear.
Top Tec 4210's 0W-30 viscosity is designed to provide rapid lubrication following a cold start while maintaining reliable lubrication under normal operating conditions. LIQUI MOLY highlights its ability to minimise friction, provide excellent high-pressure and wear protection and maintain outstanding engine cleanliness.
Why Choose Top Tec 4210 for a Porsche?
The main benefit for applicable Porsche models is its official Porsche C30 approval.
Modern Porsche engines can require a specific manufacturer oil approval rather than simply a particular SAE viscosity. Where Porsche C30 is specified, Top Tec 4210 provides an officially approved lubricant rather than relying solely on a generic 0W-30 specification.
Its low level of ash-forming ingredients also makes it suitable for modern emissions systems. LIQUI MOLY confirms that Top Tec 4210 has been tested for particulate filters, catalytic converters and turbochargers.
Always confirm the required Porsche oil approval for the individual model and engine before use.
Specifications and Approvals
Top Tec 4210 0W-30 carries the following specifications and
approvals:
- ACEA C3
- BMW Longlife-04
- BMW Longlife-19FE
- MB-Approval 229.51
- MB-Approval 229.52
- Porsche C30
- VW 504 00 VW 507 00
LIQUI MOLY also recommends the product for applications requiring API SN and Iveco 18-1811 SC1 LV 21.
Petrol & Diesel Applications
Top Tec 4210 is suitable for petrol and diesel vehicles where the required viscosity and manufacturer specification match. Its low-ash formulation makes it particularly suitable for vehicles equipped with modern exhaust after-treatment systems, including particulate filters.
LIQUI MOLY states that the product was specially developed for Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen Group vehicles that require this specification and viscosity under the manufacturers' oil strategies.
Porsche C30 0W-30 Engine Oils & LIQUI MOLY Lubricants
Choosing the correct oil for a modern Porsche requires consideration of both viscosity and the manufacturer's required oil approval. Two oils with the same 0W-30 viscosity are not necessarily interchangeable if they carry different Porsche approvals.
LIQUI MOLY Top Tec 4210 0W-30 carries official Porsche C30 approval alongside VW 504 00 / 507 00, ACEA C3, BMW Longlife-04 / Longlife-19FE and Mercedes-Benz 229.51 / 229.52 approvals. This makes it particularly relevant for applicable Porsche and Volkswagen Group engines requiring these specifications.
Its fully synthetic technology provides strong wear
protection and rapid lubrication, while the low-ash formulation helps protect
particulate filters and other modern exhaust after-treatment systems. LIQUI
MOLY also confirms compatibility testing with turbochargers and catalytic
converters.
