The perfectly balanced mid engine Cayman/Boxster is Germany's canyon carving track meister. Unfortunately, the Cayman/Boxster was delivered slightly under powered from the factory so as not to threaten the Carrera's throne. The Cayman IPD intake plenum delivers increased performance that puts the Cayman/Boxster in the ring with the Carrera.
The IPD Plenum out performs every other intake system on the market. Don't be fooled by other competitors claiming to offer Plenums. All factory Porsche air distributors are of the "T" variety and therefore suffer from less than ideal air flow and intake air speed.

The "Competition" version is designed to work with both bone stock Caymans/Boxsters but produces even more horsepower gains (20+) with Caymans/Boxsters already equipped with after market "cat back" high flow performance exhaust and other performance mods.

In F1, for example, BMC cotton filters minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for full exploitation of maximum power. Therefore the benefits of replacing the original paper filter with BMC cotton air filter, produced using the same technology and materials as the F1 air filters, are evident.

Qualified engineers using advanced software and expert technicians using the latest technologies produce BMC air filters. An F1 filter must be very light, must be made of the best raw materials and must improve performance. For this reason we use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability.

We recommend using original BMC kits only, as other products may not be effective or may damage the filter permanently, thus invalidating the warranty.
We recommend regenerating the filter (washing + oil application) every 20.000 – 25.000 km to ensure best performance and long service life.
This value is a rough estimate and can vary based on the climatic conditions and the ground on which the vehicle is used (sand, dirt roads, etc.).
The various steps to be carried out in order to regenerate the filtering element are indicated in the instructions contained in the regeneration kit.
