The OE Match Ignition Coil is a premium-quality replacement ignition system component designed to deliver the high-voltage electrical energy required to ignite the air and fuel mixture in compatible Porsche engines. Manufactured to OE specifications for fit, electrical performance and durability, this ignition coil restores reliable spark generation, ensuring efficient combustion, smooth engine operation and dependable starting performance.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
- Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
- Porsche 928S4 5.0L 1987-92

- Porsche 928GTS 5.4L 1992-95
Manufactured using high-quality copper windings, premium magnetic core materials and a robust heat-resistant housing, the ignition coil is engineered to withstand high operating temperatures, engine vibration and continuous electrical demand. Precision-built for direct OE-style installation, it provides consistent voltage output across all engine speeds, making it an ideal replacement for worn or failing original ignition coils.
What This Product Does:
- Converts battery voltage into the high voltage required for ignition.
- Supplies consistent electrical energy to the ignition system.
- Ensures reliable spark generation for efficient combustion.
- Improves engine starting and idle quality.
- Supports smooth engine performance across the rev range.
- Helps maintain optimum fuel efficiency and emissions.
- Restores factory ignition performance.
- Forms an essential part of the engine ignition system.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Engine misfires.
- Difficult or prolonged engine starting.
- Rough or unstable idle.
- Loss of engine power during acceleration.
- Poor fuel economy.
- Hesitation or jerking under load.
- Illuminated engine management warning light (where applicable).
- Increased exhaust emissions.Intermittent stalling.
- Complete no-start condition if the coil fails.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The ignition coil operates continuously under high electrical loads and is exposed to constant heat, vibration and thermal cycling. Over time, the internal windings, insulation and electrical connections can deteriorate, reducing the coil's ability to generate a strong and consistent spark.
- A failing ignition coil can cause incomplete combustion, resulting in engine misfires, reduced performance, poor fuel economy and increased emissions. Continued operation with a faulty coil may also place additional strain on spark plugs, ignition leads and catalytic converters, potentially leading to more extensive and costly repairs.
- Replacing a worn or faulty ignition coil restores reliable ignition performance, smooth engine operation and efficient combustion. The OE Match replacement provides factory-style fitment, premium-quality internal components and long-lasting durability, helping maintain the performance, reliability and driving experience expected from your Porsche.
