Information
Heater flap cable for Manual heating cars.
This control cable replaces the original pull-cable used to operate the heater-flap (air-recirculation/ventilation) lever on early Porsche 911 models. Its enables the driver to manually open or close the heater/ventilation flap, ensuring proper airflow management and cabin comfort.
Fits:
Manual heating cars only
Porsche 911 1975 - 1986
Porsche 911 (930) Turbo 1975 - 1986
Manufactured with durable, smooth-action cable housing and factory-style end fittings, this replacement offers reliable operation and long-term durability. It fits directly into place with no modification required—perfect for restoration or preservation of vintage Porsche interiors.
• Function: Transmits driver’s lever motion to the heater-flap mechanism for ventilation/recirculation control
• Position: Engine bay / dashboard area — heating-ventilation system
• Benefits: OEM-style action, smooth function, improved cabin control, correct finish
• Installation: Remove old cable assembly, route new cable in same path, secure ends and adjust for smooth lever motion
Control cables like this heater-flap cable are subject to repeated motion, heat cycling, and exposure to engine bay environment. Over many years the cable may become stiff or caught, the housing may deteriorate, or the ends may wear— leading to loss of lever action, poor flap control, or stuck ventilation positions.
Replace this cable when:
• The heater/vent-flap lever feels sluggish, sticky, or non-responsive
• The cable housing shows cracks, splits or corrosion
• You’re restoring the interior or heating system and require authentic, proper function
• The original cable is missing or severely worn as part of a drivetrain/site restoration
Installing a fresh cable restores crisp lever action, full control of the ventilation system and helps retain the correct cockpit feel of your classic Porsche.
