The Fabspeed XperTune Performance Software is a custom ECU calibration upgrade designed for the 2008–2010 Porsche 957 Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S 4.8L.

Rather than replacing a mechanical engine component, XperTune modifies the calibration within the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU) to optimise performance. The tune is developed around the individual vehicle and its modifications, with the aim of increasing horsepower and torque while improving throttle response and overall drivability.
The package includes a MyGenius handheld tuning device, allowing the vehicle's factory ECU data to be read through the OBD-II diagnostic port. This information is supplied to Fabspeed, which creates a custom calibration for the vehicle. The completed tune is then loaded onto the MyGenius device and flashed back to the Cayenne through the OBD-II port.
The original factory calibration can also be restored using the handheld device without removing or mailing the ECU.
What This Product Does:
The ECU controls many of the operating strategies used by the engine.
On a turbocharged performance engine, these can include parameters associated with:
- Boost control
- Ignition timing
- Fuel delivery
- Throttle response
- Torque management
- Engine load
- Power delivery
Performance ECU software recalibrates selected parameters to make better use of the engine's performance capability.
The Fabspeed calibration is developed using information from the individual vehicle, allowing the tune to account for the Cayenne's existing specification and performance modifications.
Custom Calibration:
The Fabspeed tune is not simply described as a generic file installed without reference to the vehicle.
The tuning process uses the factory ECU data together with information supplied about the vehicle and its modifications.
This allows Fabspeed to prepare a calibration for the specific setup.
Relevant modifications may include changes to:
- Intake system
- Exhaust system
- Intercooling
- Other compatible performance hardware
Accurate vehicle and modification information should be supplied when requesting the calibration.
MyGenius Handheld Tuner:
The included MyGenius handheld device allows the ECU tuning process to be carried out through the vehicle's OBD-II diagnostic connection.
The normal process is:
- Read the vehicle's stock ECU data through the OBD-II port using MyGenius.
- Connect MyGenius to a Windows computer.
- Supply the factory ECU information and vehicle details to Fabspeed.
- Fabspeed develops the custom tune.
- Load the completed calibration onto the MyGenius device.
- Flash the new calibration to the vehicle through the OBD-II port.
This eliminates the need to remove and mail the ECU for most installations.
