The Fabspeed Porsche 986 Boxster Primary Sport Catalytic Converters are high-flow replacement catalysts designed for 1997–1999 Porsche 986 Boxster and Boxster S models.

Designed to replace the more restrictive factory catalytic converters, these performance catalysts improve exhaust-gas flow while retaining catalytic converter functionality. The result is a more performance-oriented exhaust path designed to improve throttle response, support increased power potential and enhance the naturally aspirated Porsche flat-six exhaust note.
Fabspeed uses HJS/EMITEC high-flow catalytic converter technology, with the manufacturer specifying a 200 CPSI (cells per square inch) catalyst design. Fabspeed states that these catalysts can flow approximately 90–93% of the volume of a straight pipe in many applications while continuing to provide exhaust-gas treatment.
The converters are designed as a direct bolt-on replacement for the original catalytic converters, making them suitable for use with the factory OEM-style muffler or aftermarket exhaust systems designed to accept the original Porsche catalytic converter arrangement.
What This Product Does:
Catalytic converters form part of the vehicle's exhaust system and are designed to chemically convert harmful exhaust pollutants into less harmful compounds before gases leave the tailpipe.
However, exhaust gases must pass through a catalyst substrate, which creates some resistance to flow.
