- Burns Stainless high-velocity merge collectors
- Integral side muffler bypass pipes
- Premium Helical exhaust valves
- High-flow T304 stainless-steel construction
The system was developed through CAD modelling, Dynojet testing and track development to improve exhaust flow throughout the engine's operating range.
What This Product Does:
The exhaust headers collect combustion gases as they leave each cylinder and direct them into the remaining exhaust system.
Header length, primary-pipe diameter, collector design and exhaust restriction all influence how efficiently these gases leave the engine.
The Fabspeed Long Tube Competition system is designed to:
- Increase exhaust gas flow
- Reduce exhaust restriction
- Improve exhaust scavenging
- Increase horsepower
- Increase torque
- Improve throttle response
- Strengthen mid-range power delivery
- Improve high-RPM breathing
- Reduce rear exhaust-system weight
- Produce a significantly more aggressive motorsport exhaust note
- Bypass restrictive factory side mufflers
- Provide valved control within the side-muffler bypass arrangement
This system is intended primarily for maximum track performance rather than road-going refinement.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Factory GT3 exhaust components are exposed to extreme temperatures, vibration and repeated thermal cycling.
Common symptoms of deteriorating headers, catalysts or side mufflers can include:
- Ticking or tapping from the header area
- Blowing or hissing exhaust leaks
- Black soot around flange connections
- Cracked headers or welds
- Damaged or warped header flanges
- Catalyst rattling
- Reduced high-RPM performance
- Sluggish throttle response
- Excessive exhaust heat
- Metallic rattling from mufflers
- Broken internal muffler components
- Loose exhaust mounting hardware
- Increased exhaust vibration
- Check Engine Light relating to catalyst efficiency
- Sulphur-like smell from a deteriorating catalyst
- Visible heat damage around exhaust joints
Similar symptoms can also result from damaged exhaust gaskets, oxygen sensors or heat shields, so complete diagnosis is recommended before replacing components.
Why Replacement Matters:
A damaged or leaking header can allow extremely hot exhaust gases to escape into the surrounding engine area.
A deteriorating catalyst or internally damaged muffler can also increase exhaust restriction.
Continued use of damaged components may contribute to:
- Reduced engine performance
- Poor throttle response
- Increased exhaust temperatures
- Additional stress on surrounding components
- Exhaust leakage
- Unwanted vibration or rattling
- Further damage to adjoining exhaust components
