- Porsche 997 MK1 TURBO 2007-09
The Fabspeed Competition Link Pipes are high-flow, catalyst-bypass exhaust pipes developed for the Porsche 911 997 Turbo from 2006–2009 equipped with a compatible Fabspeed exhaust system.
Fits:
- Porsche 997 MK1 TURBO 2006-09
Designed specifically for competition and closed-course applications, the pipes replace the catalytic-converter section of a compatible Fabspeed exhaust with straight-through stainless-steel tubing.
Removing the catalyst substrate creates a significantly less restrictive exhaust path for the twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, helping reduce post-turbo backpressure, improve exhaust gas evacuation and sharpen throttle response.
The reduction in exhaust restriction also produces a much more aggressive exhaust note, with increased turbocharger sound and greater overall exhaust volume.
The Competition Link Pipes are manufactured from 14–16 gauge CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, providing high-temperature durability, corrosion resistance and a smooth internal exhaust path.
What This Product Does:
The Competition Link Pipes replace the catalytic-converter section of the compatible exhaust system with straight-through tubing.
They are designed to:
- Remove catalyst-related exhaust restriction.
- Increase exhaust gas flow.
- Reduce post-turbo backpressure.
- Improve throttle response.
- Support quicker turbocharger response.
- Provide greater exhaust-flow capacity.
- Increase turbocharger sound.
- Produce a louder and more aggressive exhaust note.
- Reduce the mass associated with catalytic-converter assemblies.
- Complement compatible Fabspeed performance exhaust systems.
- Provide a competition-focused exhaust configuration.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
One reason for replacing an existing catalytic-converter section may be internal catalyst deterioration.
Possible symptoms include:
- Loss of engine performance.
- Reduced high-RPM power.
- Sluggish turbo response.
- Engine feeling restricted under boost.
- Excessive exhaust backpressure.
- Metallic rattling inside a catalytic converter.
- Check Engine Light.
- Catalyst-efficiency fault codes.
- Excessive exhaust temperature.
- Unusual exhaust smell.
- Internal catalyst substrate breaking apart.
- Melted or collapsed catalyst material.
Catalyst failure should always be diagnosed properly because it may be caused by an underlying engine fault.
Why Replacement Matters:
Replacing damaged competition link pipes helps restore:
- Proper exhaust sealing.
- Correct exhaust alignment.
- Maximum intended gas flow.
- Safe routing of hot exhaust gases.
- Structural integrity.
- Reliable track performance.
Where the original or sport catalytic converters have become restricted or mechanically damaged, moving to a bypass configuration for a permitted competition application can also remove that restriction completely.
NOTE: In the United Kingdom, sports catalytic converters and bypass pipes do not have type approval and are not legally permitted for use on vehicles manufactured after 1st March 2001. They are not MOT compliant and cannot be used on public roads. These components are intended solely for race and track use.
For vehicles manufactured before 1st March 2001, a non-type approved sports catalytic converter may be fitted, provided it offers comparable performance to the original and the vehicle continues to meet the applicable emissions standards for its age. The vehicle must still pass an MOT test.
If you are located outside the UK, please check your local laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

PREMIUM HJS HD CATALYST: Fabspeed Motorsport is the largest distributor of premium HJS catalysts in North America, and second largest in the world. Based off years of engineering experience and ample testing we've selected the ideal catalyst to unlock performance from the factory exhaust system. This German imported 200 cell HJS HD catalyst is the top of the line solution to increase exhaust flow, resulting in a satisfying increase in turbo sound to match the extra horsepower gains. This specific catalyst has proven itself in numerous Ferrari and Lamborghini applications - able to withstand extreme abuse while preventing any check engine lights. The HD designation signifies the incorporation of a brazing stripe and special mantles to hold the metal matrix in place through the toughest of conditions while ensuring the overall integrity of the catalyst. The best part - increased performance without a check engine light.
CATBYPASS PIPE: We also offer the Supercup Turboback without a catalytic converter for those looking for the most aggressive exhaust in terms of power, exhaust volume, and turbo noise. A check engine light can be expected due to eliminating the catalytic converter. The CEL occurrence can be reduced/eliminated through the use of our O2 Spacers or upcoming tuning solutions.
POWER: The addition of Fabspeed's Supercup Turboback Exhaust System with Sport Cat added 10 whp and 13 ft-lbs at 4000 rpm as tested on our Dynojet. Expect more power and response with our Catbypass option. The Supercup Turboback is a very free flowing system and full potential will be realized with a tune. We look forward to extracting even more power with our hardware in conjunction with a Fabspeed ECU Tune at a later date as soon as possible.

Link pipe set (SS) was tested and developed together with Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) system.
Constructed from high-grade lightweight titanium, with flanges cast in the in-house foundry that perfectly fit the Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) exhaust system, these pipes have been developed to create a full Akrapovič system offering increased performance and a thrilling soundtrack. With the amalgamation of these two state-of-the-art products, the sound has a true racing character with a high-frequency sporty and enjoyable tone, fully in keeping with the performance of the vehicle.
The combination of a Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) and the Link pipe set (Titanium) have been tested on the Akrapovič dyno, using a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 with a stock exhaust system for comparison, and the Akrapovič configuration delivers a power gain of +11.6 kW at 2,600 rpm allied to a torque increase of +43.0 Nm at 2,600 rpm. The full arrangement of the exhaust and link pipes is intended for racing track use only and is not intended for street use.
For OPF: When installing the Link pipe set (Titanium), remapping the ECU is mandatory.
Fitment notice: A modification of fitting brackets done by Porsche on 718 GT4/Spyder and 718 Cayman GTS 4.0/Boxster GTS 4.0 produced approximately after February 2020 was identified. Please turn to your Area sales manager for detailed explanation on differences in order to choose the appropriate exhaust for your car.
