Diagram Ref No 4
As a critical fastening component, the driveshaft bolt ensures the secure attachment of the driveshaft to the transmission flange, differential flange or wheel hub assembly, depending on application. It is an essential replacement item during driveshaft servicing, CV joint repairs and drivetrain maintenance.
What This Product Does:
- Secures the driveshaft and CV joint assembly to the drivetrain.
- Maintains correct clamping force between mating components.
- Ensures safe and reliable transfer of engine power to the wheels.
- Helps prevent movement between driveshaft mounting surfaces.
- Supports drivetrain alignment and stability.
- Contributes to long-term drivetrain reliability and safety.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Clicking, knocking or clunking noises from the drivetrain.
- Excessive movement at the driveshaft or CV joint connection.
- Drivetrain vibration during acceleration or cruising.
- Loose or missing fastening hardware.
- Corroded or damaged bolt threads.
- Rounded bolt heads preventing correct torque application.
- Accelerated wear of CV joints and flange connections.
- Risk of driveshaft detachment in severe cases.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Driveshaft bolts are subjected to constant torsional loads, vibration, heat cycles and environmental exposure. Over time, bolts can stretch, corrode or suffer thread damage, reducing their ability to maintain the required clamping force. Fasteners that have been removed during servicing may also lose some of their original holding capability and should be inspected carefully before reuse.
- A compromised driveshaft bolt can allow movement between drivetrain components, leading to vibration, driveline noise, premature wear and potential safety concerns. In severe cases, fastener failure can result in damage to driveshafts, CV joints, transmission flanges and surrounding components.
- Replacing worn or damaged driveshaft bolts with OE Match replacements helps maintain drivetrain integrity, ensures correct fastening performance and supports safe vehicle operation. OE-specification hardware is essential for preserving the reliability and durability of the drivetrain system.
