Driveshaft, Rear.
Genuine Porsche original equipment (OE) rear drive shaft assembly, also known as a constant-velocity (CV) axle. It is manufactured to Porsche’s exact factory specifications and is used on Porsche 718 (982) Boxster S and Cayman S models with PDK Transmission as part of the rear drivetrain system.

The rear drive shaft transfers engine torque from the transmission or rear differential to the wheel hub, enabling the driven wheels to propel the vehicle. Integrated constant-velocity joints allow the shaft to operate smoothly at varying angles as the suspension articulates, ensuring uninterrupted power delivery during acceleration, cornering, and changes in road surface.
Function:
• Transfers rotational force from the drivetrain to the rear wheel
• Allows suspension articulation via constant-velocity joints
• Maintains smooth, vibration-free power delivery
• Supports traction, handling balance, and drivetrain refinement
When to replace:
• Clicking or knocking noises during acceleration or turning
• Vibration or shudder under load
• Torn or leaking CV boots
• Excessive play detected during inspection
• During suspension, hub, or drivetrain service revealing wear
