Drive Belt for cars WITHOUT Air con
The Genuine Porsche 99610215167 water pump drive belt is an OE Poly-V / serpentine belt for selected Porsche 996 and 986 Boxster models without air conditioning. It drives the water pump and related auxiliary components according to the non-A/C belt routing, supporting correct coolant circulation and reliable accessory-drive operation. Ideal for routine servicing or replacing a cracked, noisy, slipping or worn original belt.
Fits:
Porsche 996 Carrera 1998 - 2005
Porsche 986 Boxster 1997 - 2004
Diagram ref no 27
This belt is specifically for Porsche 996 and 986 Boxster models without air conditioning. It is not the correct belt for vehicles fitted with air conditioning, as the belt routing and length differ.
What This Part Does / Functions
• Drives the water pump from the engine pulley system
• Supports correct coolant circulation through the engine
• Helps maintain stable engine operating temperature
• Drives other auxiliary components according to the non-A/C belt routing
• Maintains correct accessory belt tension and pulley engagement when installed correctly
• Helps prevent belt slip, squeal and accessory-drive faults
• Provides correct OE Porsche belt length, rib profile and fitment
• Replaces a cracked, worn, stretched, glazed or noisy original belt.
Why Replace This Part?
The drive belt is a service wear item and is exposed to heat, tension, pulley contact and engine movement. Over time, the belt can crack, glaze, fray, stretch or lose grip on the pulleys. A worn belt can cause squealing, slipping, reduced water pump performance, charging issues or complete accessory-drive failure. Replacing it with a Genuine Porsche OE belt helps restore reliable auxiliary drive operation and supports correct cooling system performance. On cars without air conditioning, using the correct belt length is essential because the routing is different from A/C-equipped models.
When to Replace This Part
• If the belt is cracked, glazed, frayed or visibly worn
• If the belt squeals, slips or makes noise during engine operation
• If the belt has stretched or no longer runs correctly
• During scheduled service or preventative belt replacement
• When replacing the water pump, belt tensioner or idler pulleys
• If the belt has been contaminated by oil, coolant or debris
• If accessory-drive faults or cooling issues are linked to belt slip
• When converting or servicing a vehicle with non-A/C belt routing.
Where It Fits on the Car
This belt fits on the engine accessory drive system. It routes around the crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley, idler pulleys and tensioner according to the factory without air conditioning belt layout.

Information
Belt and Pin or Twin IGN Distributor.
A design fault on engines up to August 1993 that you MUST fix if not already done so is to add ventilation to the distributor to prevent ozone perishing the distributor drive belt. If this breaks you will be running on one plug per cylinder and will end up with poor performance and possible damage.
The solutions is to also fit a Venting kit.
Fits:
Porsche 964 1990-94
Porsche 993 1995-97

Information
Distributor Vent Kit.
964 Ventilation Kit includes:
- Distributor ventilation connection (A)
- Rubber Grommet (B)
- White Grommet connector (C)
- Hose (D)
HOW TO FIT: Firstly prise of the oval plate arrowed on the distributor with a screwdriver. Then remove the large black air guide pipe as we need to drill a hole in it at the green dot. The pipe removes by loosening jubilee clips at top and bottom. You will also need to remove two sensor connectors on the pipe. I also removed the two sensors near the distributor so that I had easy access to the plate. Drill at 18mm hole in the pipe, 40mm to the right of the tail light ventilation nipple. Deburr the hole and remove all shavings. Install the rubber grommet (B) into the hole and install the white connector (C) into the grommet.Install the distributor connector (A) into the hole in the distributor where the plate was. Finally refit the air pipe and connect back up all the sensors. Install the hose (D) onto the new distributor and air pipe nipples and route
