- Porsche 914 (1970-1976)
This OE Match drain hose spring clamp is suitable for Porsche 914 models from 1970 to 1976. It is used within the water drainage arrangements associated with the engine-compartment lid and fresh-air ventilation system.
Fits
- Porsche 914 1970-1976
Diagram ref no 41
What This Product Does
The spring clamp holds the drain hose securely against its corresponding connection. Its clamping force helps keep the hose correctly located while allowing the original-style drainage assembly to be retained.
Functions
- Secures a water drain hose to its connection
- Helps prevent the hose from moving or separating
- Supports correct water routing through the drainage system
- Replaces a missing, damaged or weakened clamp
Technical Details
- Part type: drain hose spring clamp
- Engine-compartment lid application: Porsche 914 1970–76
- Ventilation and heating application: Porsche 914 from 1972 onwards
- Parts diagrams specify two clamps per applicable assembly
- Diagram reference: 41
Symptoms of Fault
- Drain hose is loose or disconnected
- Clamp no longer grips the hose firmly
- Visible distortion or damage to the existing spring clamp
- Water is not being directed through the intended drain hose
Why Replacement Matters
A secure clamp keeps the drain hose seated and helps the drainage arrangement guide water through its intended route. Replacement is appropriate when the original clamp is missing, damaged or no longer provides adequate retention.
FAQs
- Is this clamp supplied individually?
This part is sold individually. - How many clamps are shown in the assemblies?
The engine-compartment lid and ventilation/heating diagrams each specify a quantity of two for the relevant installation. - When should the clamp be replaced?
Renew it if it is absent, visibly damaged or unable to hold the drain hose securely.

What the Rear Tailgate Lock Mechanism Does
The rear tailgate lock mechanism performs several important
functions:
- Secures the rear hatch in the closed position
- Interfaces with the vehicle’s central locking system
- Releases electronically via key fob or cabin switch
- Maintains correct alignment of the rear lid
- Ensures the vehicle remains weather sealed and secure
In Porsche 981 and 718 Cayman models, the rear hatch provides access to the rear luggage compartment. Proper lock function is critical for both security and usability.
Why Tailgate Lock Mechanisms Fail
Over time, rear hatch lock mechanisms can fail due to:
- Electrical actuator motor wear
- Internal gear or latch wear
- Water ingress or corrosion
- Repeated opening and closing cycles
- Alignment stress on the latch
- Wiring connector faults
Common symptoms of failure include:
- Rear hatch not opening via remote
- Tailgate not locking securely
- Warning light indicating rear lid open
- Intermittent locking operation
- Hatch requiring manual force to close
Electrical actuator failure is particularly common as the vehicle ages and components experience repeated use.
When You Should Replace the Rear Tailgate Lock
You should consider replacing the rear tailgate lock
mechanism if:
- The rear hatch fails to lock or unlock electronically
- The central locking system does not engage the rear hatch
- The tailgate warning light remains illuminated
- The latch makes clicking noises but does not operate
- You experience intermittent operation
- The hatch feels loose or insecure when closed
Prompt replacement ensures vehicle security, prevents accidental opening and maintains correct alignment of the rear lid.
Maintaining the integrity of your locking system protects your vehicle and preserves convenience and safety.
Key Benefits at a Glance
- Direct replacement rear tailgate lock mechanism
- Restores secure rear hatch closure
- Fully compatible with central locking system
- Fixes intermittent or failed latch operation
- Suitable for Porsche 981 and 718 Cayman
- Ideal for repair and preventative maintenance
