The door lock striker is mounted to the vehicle body and provides the engagement point for the door latch when the door is closed. As the door shuts, the latch engages with the striker, helping pull the door into its correct closed position and hold it securely against the body.
The yellow chromated finish provides the characteristic plated appearance associated with period-style hardware while also helping protect the component against corrosion.
