The CV joint boot is a critical component of the driveshaft assembly, protecting the constant velocity joint throughout the full range of suspension and steering movement. Over time, exposure to heat, road debris, ozone, and continual flexing can cause the boot to crack, split, or deteriorate. Once damaged, grease escapes and contaminants enter the joint, rapidly accelerating wear. Replacing a worn CV joint boot at the earliest opportunity helps preserve the CV joint itself, preventing more costly drivetrain repairs and making this OE Match component an ideal choice for Porsche maintenance, repairs, and restoration projects.
What This Product Does:
- Seals and protects the constant velocity joint.
- Retains lubricating grease within the CV joint.
- Prevents dirt, water, and road contaminants from entering the joint.
- Maintains smooth power transmission through the driveshaft.
- Protects the CV joint against premature wear.
- Replaces cracked, split, or deteriorated CV joint boots.
- Provides an OE-style fit for straightforward installation.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Split, cracked, or perished CV joint boot.
- Grease leaking from the CV joint.
- Grease thrown onto suspension or wheel components.
- Dirt or moisture visible inside the damaged boot.
- Clicking or knocking noises when turning.
- Visible deterioration caused by age or road debris.
- Excessive CV joint wear identified during servicing.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The CV joint boot is essential for protecting the constant velocity joint from contamination while retaining the specialised grease required for reliable operation. If the boot fails, abrasive dirt and moisture can enter the joint while grease escapes, leading to accelerated wear, noisy operation, and eventual CV joint failure.
- Replacing a damaged CV joint boot restores the protective seal around the joint, helping to preserve the driveshaft assembly, maintain smooth power delivery, and avoid the expense of replacing an otherwise serviceable CV joint. Manufactured as a direct replacement and produced to OE-style specifications, this OE Match CV Joint Boot provides reliable fit, performance, and durability for Porsche maintenance, repairs, and restoration projects.
