What This Product Does
This cover belongs to the control-unit portion of the hydraulic anti-lock braking assembly. Its role is to cover that section in the arrangement identified by the relevant exploded diagram; it does not sense wheel speed, operate the pump or regulate hydraulic pressure.
Functions
- Provides the specified covering for the ABS/PSM control-unit section.
- Reinstates the cover position within the illustrated assembly.
- Allows renewal of a missing or damaged cover without identifying it as a complete control unit.
Technical Details
- Manufacturer: Porsche; part number: 99661803800.
- Diagram designation: cover control unit; also described as cover.
- Recorded quantity: 1 per illustrated assembly.
Symptoms of Fault
- Visible cracking, deformation or other damage to the cover.
- An uncovered control-unit section where the original component is missing.
- Poor seating or insecure retention when the cover is inspected.
Why Replacement Matters
Replacing a defective cover returns this part of the assembly to its specified layout. Inspect its seating and surrounding attachment points before fitting. Dashboard ABS/PSM alerts require separate fault investigation: a replacement cover is not a remedy for sensor, wiring, hydraulic or controller defects.
FAQs
Is the controller supplied with this cover?
No. The diagram treats 99661803800 as an individual cover, separate from the hydraulic assembly and its associated components.
Can this resolve an ABS warning?
The cover alone does not correct system faults. Diagnosis should assess stored faults, electrical supply, wiring, sensors and hydraulic operation as appropriate.
