What This Product Does
The hose carries returning coolant within the engine's cooling circuit. Its location is in the water-pump and thermostat-housing assembly, where sound hose connections help contain coolant and maintain circulation.
Functions
- Carries coolant along the return route.
- Forms a connection within the thermostat-housing assembly.
- Replaces a deteriorated return hose when leakage or damage is confirmed.
Technical Details
- Brand: OE Match
- Replacement reference: 99710683204.
- Component identification: water hose return line.
Symptoms of Fault
- Wetness beside the thermostat housing or hose ends.
- Crusty deposits left by escaping coolant.
- Repeated coolant-level warnings.
- A sweet odour from the engine compartment.
- Abnormally high temperature readings.
- Bulging, splits, hardened areas or unusually soft sections.
- Loss of cooling-circuit pressure.
- Fresh seepage after switching off the engine.
Why Replacement Matters
Repeated heating and cooling, vibration and fluid exposure can gradually weaken a hose. Renewing a confirmed faulty return line addresses that leak source rather than relying on repeated topping-up. OE Match provides a Porsche-focused replacement option; match the reference and application before installation.
Inspect this hose when servicing the water pump, thermostat or adjoining pipework. Replacement may be appropriate if it is brittle, oil-contaminated or damaged during dismantling. Check clamps, connecting fittings and nearby hoses too, as deterioration elsewhere can leave an unresolved leak. Correct routing and clamp placement matter when refitting.
