Rear coil springs support the weight of the vehicle while allowing controlled suspension movement. On the 911 Dakar, these springs are specially tuned to work with the model’s increased ground clearance and off-road capability, maintaining stability both on-road and over rough terrain.
They ensure the correct balance between ride comfort, handling precision, and off-road articulation, working in conjunction with the shock absorbers and suspension geometry.
Functions & Technical Role
• Vehicle support: Carries rear axle weight and maintains correct ride height
• Suspension movement: Allows controlled compression and rebound over uneven surfaces
• Off-road capability: Designed for Dakar-specific raised suspension and increased travel
• Handling stability: Maintains tyre contact and vehicle balance under dynamic driving
• OEM precision: Manufactured to Porsche specifications for exact spring rate and fitment
Suspension springs are subject to constant stress from vehicle weight, impacts, and terrain variation. Over time, they can weaken or sag, leading to:
• Uneven or reduced ride height
• Poor handling or instability
• Increased suspension wear
• Reduced off-road performance
Replacing worn springs with genuine Porsche OE Dakar-specific springs ensures proper suspension geometry, restores performance, and maintains the vehicle’s original driving characteristics.
