FTE clutch slave cylinder for Porsche 924 Turbo, 924S and 944 models. This hydraulic operating cylinder converts fluid pressure from the clutch master cylinder into movement at the clutch release mechanism.
Fits:
Porsche 924 Turbo 1979 - 1982
Porsche 924S 1986 - 1988
Porsche 944 1982 - 1991
What This Product Does
Pressing the clutch pedal causes the master cylinder to send hydraulic fluid through the clutch line. The slave cylinder responds to this pressure by moving its piston and pushrod, operating the clutch release mechanism so that the clutch can disengage for gear selection. FTE applies its experience as an automotive hydraulic component manufacturer to replacement clutch and brake parts.
Functions
- Receives hydraulic pressure from the clutch master cylinder
- Moves the clutch release mechanism
- Allows the clutch to engage and disengage
- Supports consistent clutch pedal travel
- Helps permit clean gear selection
Technical Details
- Brand: FTE
- Part type: hydraulic clutch slave cylinder
- OE reference: 94411623700
- Used with manual-transmission clutch hydraulic systems
Symptoms of Fault
- A soft or sinking clutch pedal
- The pedal remaining close to the floor
- Difficulty selecting or changing gears
- A clutch that does not disengage fully
- A sudden or inconsistent change in the clutch bite point
- Hydraulic fluid around the slave cylinder or bellhousing area
- Intermittent loss of clutch operation, particularly after repeated use
Why Replacement Matters
A leaking or internally worn slave cylinder may be unable to move the release mechanism far enough to disengage the clutch correctly. Replacement can restore hydraulic operation and reduce the risk of losing clutch control. The clutch master cylinder, hydraulic line, release fork, pivot and release bearing should also be inspected where accessible, as faults elsewhere in the system can produce similar symptoms.
FAQs
- Does the clutch system need bleeding after installation?
Yes. Air must be removed from the hydraulic circuit using the correct bleeding procedure. - Should the hydraulic fluid be renewed?
Renewal is advisable when the existing fluid is old, dark or contaminated. Always use the vehicle manufacturer's specified fluid. - Could difficult gear selection be caused by the clutch itself?
Yes. A worn clutch, release mechanism, master cylinder or damaged hydraulic line can cause similar symptoms, so diagnosis should cover the complete system. - What should be checked during replacement?
Inspect the master cylinder, hydraulic hose and connections for leaks. Check the clutch fork, pivot and release bearing where access allows.
Check fitment for your specific vehicle, including model, year and engine, before ordering.

Diagram Ref No 1
A clutch that is engaged/disengaged via hydraulic fluid instead of a cable uses a Clutch Master and Clutch Slave Cylinder. When depressing the clutch pedal a lever is squeezed, forcing hydraulic fluid through hydraulic lines to a "slave cylinder" which houses a piston. The piston forces a push rod to engage or disengage the clutch. A clutch master cylinder that contains the hydraulic fluid sits on a support har near the clutch lever. When either the Master or Slave Cylinder fail the clutch is unable to be disengaged.
