Clutch slave cylinder. Porsche 911 86>> / 964 / 993
Clutch slave cylinder for all air-cooled Porsche 911 Carrera from 1986 and all Carrera 2 and Carrera 4 models of types 964 and 993.With our clutch slave cylinder for the Porsche 911, the foot force used when clutching is reduced by approx. 30%.
This significantly increases driving comfort, as engaging the clutch is noticeably more comfortable.
The clutch slave cylinder is a hydraulic component, consisting of a cylinder with piston and a movable piston rod. This actuates a mounted arm on the vehicle side, which disconnects or closes the clutch. Since the piston rod does not press centrally on the piston, lateral forces arise in the series cylinder and thus friction between the piston and cylinder. The advantage of the MPL clutch slave cylinder is that these side forces are absorbed by 2 graphite Teflon rings that are guided in grooves in the piston, which means that there is only minimal friction. This structure made it possible to manufacture the housing from weather-resistant aluminium, which also protects against wear thanks to the fine machining of the cylinder and the electrochemical surface treatment. In order to make the actuation even easier and the engagement of the clutch even smoother, the piston surface was slightly enlarged.
The slave cylinder is supplied without the bellows and spring, these must be taken from the original.
Assembly instructions are included in the delivery.

A clutch that is engaged/disengaged via hydraulic fluid instead of a cable uses a Clutch Master and Clutch Slave Cylinder. When depressing the clutch pedal a lever is squeezed, forcing hydraulic fluid through hydraulic lines to a "slave cylinder" which houses a piston. The piston forces a push rod to engage or disengage the clutch. A clutch master cylinder that contains the hydraulic fluid sits on a support har near the clutch lever. When either the Master or Slave Cylinder fail the clutch is unable to be disengaged.

Diagram ref no 1
Offering a 45% weight reduction compared to conventional cast components, it significantly improves pedal response and reduces fatigue — ideal for both street and track applications.
What It Does
The clutch slave cylinder converts hydraulic pressure from
the master cylinder into mechanical force to engage and disengage the clutch.
The 9m billet unit refines this process with enhanced precision and efficiency.
Key Functional Benefits:
- Precision
CNC Machining: Guarantees exact tolerances for optimal hydraulic
control and reliability.
- 7075
Aluminium Construction: Delivers exceptional strength-to-weight ratio
with 45% less mass than the original unit.
- Reduced
Pedal Effort: Provides a much lighter, smoother clutch feel,
enhancing drivability.
- Hard-Anodized
Finish: Resists corrosion, wear, and heat for extended service life.
- Direct Plug-and-Play Replacement: Simple installation with no modifications required.
This uprated billet slave cylinder ensures consistent clutch engagement, better modulation, and reliable operation under high-load or high-temperature driving conditions.
Why Clutch Slave Cylinders Fail
Standard clutch slave cylinders often fail due to design
limitations, wear, or environmental exposure. Common causes include:
- Seal
Deterioration: Over time, hydraulic seals degrade, leading to fluid
leaks and loss of pressure.
- Corrosion:
Moisture contamination or fluid neglect can corrode internal components.
- Heat
Fatigue: Repeated high-temperature cycles can cause warping or
cracking in cast materials.
- Contaminated
Fluid: Dirt or debris in the hydraulic system accelerates internal
wear.
- Material Fatigue: Cast or composite housings are prone to cracking under high clutch-pressure loads.
When failure occurs, symptoms typically include clutch pedal softness, inconsistent engagement, or complete loss of hydraulic function — all of which can compromise drivability and safety.
Why It Should Be Replaced or Upgraded
Upgrading to the 9m G50 Billet Clutch Slave Cylinder
provides lasting performance advantages over conventional units:
- Improved Reliability: 7075 aluminium construction
resists flexing, cracking, and corrosion.
- Lighter Pedal Effort: Redesigned internal geometry provides a smoother
and lighter clutch action.
- Enhanced Durability: Hard-anodized surface resists wear and
contamination.
- Precision Engineering: CNC machining ensures exact fitment and
consistent hydraulic pressure.
- Direct Fit: A plug-and-play solution requiring no modifications —
perfect for enthusiasts or professional installers.
- Performance Upgrade: Ideal for high-power builds or track-day cars where clutch precision is critical.
Replacing a worn clutch slave cylinder with this uprated billet design improves reliability, performance, and driving experience, ensuring flawless clutch operation for years to come.
