What This Product Does
The clutch fork forms part of the clutch actuation assembly. Movement from the operating mechanism rotates or moves the fork against the release bearing, allowing the pressure plate to release the clutch disc during gear changes.
Functions
- Transfers clutch actuation movement to the release bearing
- Supports controlled clutch engagement and disengagement
- Helps maintain the correct release-bearing movement
- Connects the operating mechanism with the clutch release assembly
Technical Details
- Brand: OE Match
- Product type: clutch fork / clutch release fork
- Part number: 99711608690
- Diagram reference: 19
- Installation area: clutch release mechanism
Symptoms of Fault
- Clicking, clunking or scraping when operating the clutch
- Inconsistent or unusual clutch-pedal feel
- Difficulty selecting gears while the engine is running
- Incomplete clutch disengagement or clutch drag
- Excessive play around the fork, shaft or contact points
- Visible bending, cracking or wear on the fork
Why Replacement Matters
A worn, bent or cracked clutch fork may reduce release-bearing travel and prevent the clutch from disengaging correctly. Replacement can restore the intended release action and help avoid unnecessary loading or misalignment of related clutch components. During clutch work, inspect the release bearing, guide tube, shaft, bushes, clips and associated hardware for wear.
FAQs
- Is this a Porsche Genuine component?
This replacement is supplied under the OE Match brand. Confirm the part number and vehicle details before installation. - Should the clutch fork be inspected during clutch replacement?
Yes. Check its contact areas and pivots for cracks, deformation, scoring or excessive play while the clutch assembly is accessible. - Should related components also be checked?
Inspect the release bearing, guide tube, operating shaft, bushes and retaining hardware. Replace worn supporting parts where necessary. - Does the fork require lubrication?
Use lubricant only at the points specified by the relevant workshop procedure, keeping grease away from clutch friction surfaces.
