Why you should replace these bolts
Over time, the flywheel to clutch pressure plate bolts can experience wear and fatigue due to the high torque and heat cycles in the clutch system. Replacing these bolts during clutch or flywheel service is essential to:
- Ensure Secure Clutch Assembly: Prevent potential disengagement or slipping of the clutch pressure plate.
- Maintain Clutch Performance: Avoid uneven pressure distribution that can lead to premature clutch wear.
Common Issues
- Bolt Stretching: Repeated heating and cooling cycles can cause the bolts to stretch, compromising their clamping force.
- Corrosion: Exposure to moisture and road salts can lead to rust, weakening the bolts.
- Thread Wear: Frequent removal and installation can wear the threads, leading to improper torque application.
- Prevent Damage: Reduce the risk of damage to the flywheel or pressure plate caused by loose or worn bolts.
