Carburetor Cover Gasket for Solex 40PI-1
The 90110893400 Carburettor Cover Gasket is a Genuine Porsche Original Equipment (OE) sealing component used on early 911 engines with Solex 40 PI-1 carburettors. This gasket compresses evenly under the carburettor cover, maintaining uniform sealing pressure that matches Porsche’s original design intent. It protects against air infiltration, fuel seepage, and contamination, all of which could otherwise adversely affect engine performance and longevity.
Sold each
Fits:
Porsche 911 (early models, 1964–1968) with Solex 40 PI-1 carburettors
Diagram ref no 28
Aged or degraded gaskets can shrink, crack, or compress unevenly, allowing air and vapour leaks that harm engine idle, mixture control, and fuel economy. Replacing this gasket restores the correct sealing surface so the carburettor can maintain proper internal pressures and performance.
When to replace:
• Carburettor cover is removed for service
• Evidence of fuel leakage at the carburettor deckel
• Air leaks detected at idle
• During carburettor overhaul, rebuild, or restoration
