Diagram Ref No 10
This connecting line forms part of the front brake caliper assembly, allowing brake fluid to flow between the relevant hydraulic passages and ensuring consistent braking pressure.
What Does It Do?
The connecting line transfers pressurised brake fluid within the front brake caliper assembly, helping ensure the brake pistons operate correctly when the brake pedal is applied.
Why Does It Fail?
Common causes include:
- Corrosion and moisture exposure
- Damage from road debris
- Deterioration of pipe connections
- Damage during brake servicing
- Age-related wear or accidental bending
When Should It Be Replaced?
Replace the connecting line if it shows signs of corrosion, cracking, damage or brake fluid leakage.
Replacement may also be necessary during brake caliper refurbishment or repair.
Checks & Diagnosis
Inspect the line and its connections for fluid leaks, corrosion and physical damage. A falling brake fluid level, soft brake pedal or reduced braking performance requires immediate investigation.
Confirm compatibility using the vehicle VIN, brake specification and original part number.
Installation Notes
Installation should be carried out by a qualified technician. Inspect the hydraulic connections, use the correct tightening procedures and bleed the brake system according to Porsche specifications.
Check thoroughly for leaks before returning the vehicle to service.
Porsche 992 Front Brake Caliper Pipes & Hydraulic Components
The Porsche 992 Carrera S and Carrera 4S braking systems rely on correctly functioning hydraulic components to provide consistent braking performance.
A damaged or leaking brake caliper connecting line can compromise hydraulic pressure and should be replaced promptly.
