Engineered using high-quality reinforced materials, this OE Match brake hose is built to withstand the high hydraulic pressures and demanding operating conditions experienced during everyday driving and spirited road use. It delivers dependable braking performance while maintaining the precise pedal feel expected from a Porsche braking system.
What Does the Brake Hose Do?
The brake hose is a vital component of the hydraulic braking system. It connects the fixed metal brake pipes to the moving brake calipers, allowing suspension and steering movement while maintaining constant hydraulic pressure.
Its primary functions include:
- Transferring brake fluid under high pressure.
- Allowing suspension and steering movement.
- Maintaining consistent brake pedal feel.
- Supporting Porsche ABS and PSM systems.
- Delivering reliable hydraulic braking performance.
- Providing safe, leak-free operation under all driving conditions.
Without a correctly functioning brake hose, hydraulic pressure cannot be delivered safely to the brake caliper, reducing braking efficiency and vehicle safety.
Why Do Brake Hoses Fail?
Brake hoses are exposed to constant movement, heat and
environmental conditions. Over time they naturally deteriorate. Common causes
include:
- Age-related rubber degradation.
- Internal hose deterioration.
- Heat from the braking system.
- Exposure to moisture, road salt and contaminants.
- Surface cracking.
- Abrasion against suspension components.
- Internal swelling restricting brake fluid flow.
- Corrosion around hose fittings.
As brake hoses age, they can become less flexible, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of hydraulic failure.
When Should the Brake Hose Be Replaced?
Replacement is recommended whenever:
- Visible cracks appear in the hose.
- The hose shows signs of swelling or bulging.
- Brake fluid leaks develop.
- The hose becomes damaged through abrasion.
- The braking system is undergoing major refurbishment.
- Brake calipers are being replaced.
- During preventative maintenance on older vehicles.
- Whenever deterioration is identified during servicing.
Many Porsche specialists recommend replacing ageing brake hoses in axle pairs to maintain balanced braking performance and consistent hydraulic response.

DOT 4
Having an extremely high boiling point and lower viscosity than required, it meets and greatly exceeds regulatory standards. Also suitable for vehicles with ABS.
Vapour Lock formation
This sort of habit leaves room for the Vapour Lock, the formation of vapour bubbles due to boiling of the brake fluid that replace the normal fluid and are compressed, thereby sending the brake pedal to its fill stoke (spongy pedal). The origin is incident in the porosity of the tubes that make up the braking circuit, which in time draw moisture into the fluid, drastically reducing the boiling point. The result is a reduced braking efficiency.
Brembo Premium Brake Fluid
Brembo Premium brake fluids have a higher boiling point that exceeds the standard, thus offering superior resistance to the Vapour Lock and ensuring braking efficiency even at low temperatures. With high anti-corrosion properties and resistance to oxidation, Brembo brake fluid also allows for long-term unaltered chemical/physical characteristics of the fluid in operating circuit; therefore, preserving its integrity.

The rear caliper brake hose carries brake fluid under pressure to the rear brake caliper. Its flexible construction allows for suspension and brake movement while maintaining a sealed hydraulic connection. A good brake hose is essential for safe braking, correct pedal feel, and reliable caliper operation.
Functions
• Replaces the rear caliper brake hose
• Carries hydraulic brake fluid to the rear brake caliper
• Supports correct rear brake pressure and pedal feel
• Allows movement between the body brake line and caliper
• Helps prevent brake fluid leaks and pressure loss
• Replaces cracked, swollen, split, leaking, or aged original hoses
• OE Match replacement for Porsche 987 rear brake service.
Why Replace This Part?
Brake hoses are exposed to brake fluid, pressure, heat, road dirt, moisture, and suspension movement. Over time, the hose can crack, swell, soften, perish, collapse internally, or leak. A failing rear brake hose may cause soft pedal feel, brake drag, reduced braking performance, fluid seepage, uneven braking, or failed inspection. Replacing the hose helps restore safe hydraulic brake operation.
When to Replace This Part
• The brake hose is cracked, swollen, soft, split, or leaking
• Brake fluid seepage is visible around the hose or fittings
• Rear brake caliper service or replacement is being carried out
• Brake pedal feel is soft or inconsistent
• Rear braking performance is weak or uneven
• The hose fittings are corroded or damaged
• Preventative replacement is being carried out during brake overhaul.
Where it fits on the car
This brake hose fits at the rear brake caliper assembly on Porsche 987 Boxster and 987C Cayman models. It forms part of the rear hydraulic braking system and connects according to the factory brake line layout.
