Rear brake pad spring clip (sometimes referred to as an anti-rattle clip or brake pad retaining clip) designed to meet original equipment standards for Porsche braking systems. This small but critical component ensures proper positioning and retention of brake pads within the rear caliper assembly, maintaining stable brake operation and minimizing noise, vibration, or pad movement during driving.
Sold each, 2 required per vehicle.
Fits:
Porsche 997.2 Carrera 2 2009 - 2012 Rear Caliper
Porsche 997.1 Turbo / GT2 2007 - 2009 Rear Caliper
Porsche 997.2 Turbo GT2 2010 - 2013 Rear Caliper
Porsche 997 GT3 2007 - 2011 Rear Caliper

This clip securely holds rear brake pads in their caliper bracket, keeping them aligned and preventing excessive movement. It dampens vibration, reduces brake noise, and supports consistent pad engagement with the rotor for smooth, predictable braking performance.
When installed in the brake caliper assembly, the spring clip applies controlled pressure to the brake pads, helping maintain their correct position even under rapid deceleration or repeated braking events. This function reduces hardware wear and enhances overall brake system stability.
Though small, brake pad spring clips play a vital role in brake system performance. Over time, heat cycles, corrosion, and repeated braking motions can weaken or deform the clip, leading to loose brake pads, increased noise (rattle/knock), uneven pad wear, or reduced braking feel. Replacing worn or damaged clips with new parts restores correct pad retention and contributes to smooth, quiet, and confident braking.
Replace this brake pad spring clip if:
• Rear brake pads rattle or vibrate during vehicle motion
• There is unusual noise from the brakes (especially at low speed)
• Clips appear rusted, bent, or weak upon inspection
• Brake pads are loose in the caliper bracket
• Servicing rear brake pads or calipers as part of routine maintenance
