The brake pad pin kit holds the brake pads in position inside the caliper and supports correct pad movement during braking. The pins and related retaining components help keep the pads aligned, reduce unwanted movement, and support safe, consistent brake operation.
Functions
• Secures the brake pads inside the caliper
• Helps maintain correct brake pad alignment
• Supports smooth and stable brake pad movement
• Helps prevent pad rattle, looseness, or uneven seating
• Replaces worn, corroded, bent, or missing brake pad pins
• Supports correct brake servicing and pad replacement
• OE Match replacement for Porsche brake system repair.
Why Replace This Part?
Brake pad retaining pins and fittings are exposed to heat, brake dust, moisture, corrosion, and repeated brake service work. Over time, the pins can wear, seize, corrode, bend, or become difficult to remove. Damaged or worn retaining hardware can affect brake pad fitment, cause noise, or make future servicing more difficult. Replacing the pin kit during brake pad service helps restore correct caliper hardware condition and reliable pad retention.
When to Replace This Part
• The brake pad pins are corroded, seized, bent, or worn
• The retaining hardware is missing or damaged
• Brake pads are being replaced
• The brake pads are loose, noisy, or not sitting correctly
• The caliper hardware is difficult to remove during servicing
• The brake system is being overhauled or refreshed
• The vehicle is undergoing Porsche 996 or Boxster 986 brake repair.
Where it fits on the car
This brake pad pin kit fits in the brake caliper assembly and is used to retain the brake pads in the correct position. It should be installed according to the factory caliper layout and brake pad hardware arrangement.
