This bolt secures the brake caliper bracket to the hub carrier, ensuring the caliper remains rigid, aligned and tensioned under braking loads. Manufactured to OE tolerance, the bolt features correct thread pitch (M12 × 1.5), length (77 mm), socket head style. This bolt is designed for use with front and rear brake calipers on selected Porsche 996, 997 and 981 models.
Sold Each, 2x bolts required per caliper.
Fits:
Porsche 996 C4S 2002 - 2005 (FRONT & REAR calipers)
Porsche 996 TURBO 2000 - 2005 (FRONT & REAR calipers)
Porsche 997 MKI C2S / C4S 3.8L 2005 - 2008 (FRONT & REAR calipers)
Porsche 997 MKII C2S / C4S 3.8L 2009 - 2012 (FRONT & REAR calipers)

Diagram Ref No 8
• Position on Vehicle: Brake caliper mounting bolt, caliper bracket to hub carrier, various caliper positions (front & rear) depending on model.
• Part Specification: Thread – M12 × 1.5; Length – 77 mm; Socket head style
• Function: Secures the brake caliper to the hub carrier, provides correct clamp load, ensures caliper remains correctly aligned and rigid under braking forces, prevents movement or flex that can affect braking performance, rotor alignment and pad wear.
Though often overlooked, the caliper mounting bolts perform a critical role in your braking system. Worn, stretched or reused bolts can lose clamping load, causing caliper movement, noise, uneven pad wear, rotor alignment issues or brake performance degradation. Replacing with a correct OE-Match bolt ensures proper retention, alignment and durability.
When and why to replace:
• The caliper has been removed or serviced (pad change, rotor replacement) and original bolts have been re-used multiple times.
• Bolts show signs of thread damage, corrosion, visible stretch (elongation) or wear on the socket head.
• You’re installing new calipers, rotors or upgrading to performance braking and want to renew all fasteners.
• You’re performing brake pad/rotor service and want to ensure all hardware is new for correct torque, clamp load and safe performance.
