BMC air filters are designed and produced to ensure a higher air flow than original paper filters. In F1, for example, BMC cotton filters minimize the loss of air flow pressure passing through the air filter; this way ensures the best conditions for full exploitation of maximum power. Therefore the benefits of replacing the original paper filter with BMC cotton air filter, produced using the same technology and materials as the F1 air filters, are evident.
DESIGN AND MATERIALS
Qualified engineers using advanced software and expert technicians using the latest technologies produce BMC air filters. An F1 filter must be very light, must be made of the best raw materials and must improve performance. For this reason we use only alloy mesh with epoxy coating to ensure protection from petrol fumes and from oxidization due to the humidity of the air. The filtering material is composed of a special cotton gauze soaked with low-viscosity oil to give you the best air permeability.

Information
Replacement panel air filter.
Genuine Porsche engine air filter, manufactured to Porsche’s exact factory specifications. This filter is the correct OEM replacement for selected Porsche 911 (996 and 997) performance models, ensuring precise fitment, correct airflow characteristics, and the level of filtration required for high-performance flat-six engines.
Fits:
Porsche 996 Turbo 2000 - 2005
Porsche 996 GT3 1999 - 2005
Porsche 996 GT2 2000 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 GT3 2007 - 2009
Porsche 997.2 GT3 2010 - 2011 (Not for RS)
Diagram ref no 2
The filter is designed to fit perfectly within the factory airbox, sealing correctly against the housing to prevent unfiltered air from entering the intake system. Using a Genuine Porsche air filter ensures the engine continues to operate exactly as Porsche intended, particularly important for high-output and motorsport-derived engines.
The engine air filter plays a critical role in protecting the engine while supporting optimal combustion. As air is drawn into the intake system, it carries dust, dirt, and microscopic debris that can cause internal engine wear if not filtered properly.
The air filter:
• Removes harmful airborne contaminants before they reach the engine
• Maintains correct airflow for efficient combustion
• Supports stable power delivery and throttle response
• Helps preserve long-term engine reliability and performance
By ensuring only clean, properly metered air reaches the combustion chambers, this filter protects vital engine components such as pistons, valves, cylinder walls, and sensors.
High-performance Porsche engines rely on precise airflow management. A clogged, incorrect, or poorly manufactured air filter can lead to restricted airflow, reduced efficiency, and increased internal wear. Using a Genuine Porsche air filter ensures:
• Factory-correct airflow and filtration balance
• Protection of sensitive internal engine components
• Maintained performance and throttle response
• Compliance with Porsche service and maintenance standards
Replace the air filter if:
• The filter element shows visible dirt or heavy discoloration
• Engine response feels reduced or inconsistent
• Fuel consumption has increased
• The vehicle has reached a scheduled service interval
• The car is driven frequently in dusty or high-pollution environments
Regular inspection and replacement help protect engine health and performance.

Replacement Air filter.
OE Match quality engine air filter designed as a direct replacement for the original intake air filter fitted to selected Porsche 911 (996 and 997) performance models. Manufactured to closely match original equipment specifications, it delivers correct fitment, reliable filtration efficiency, and proper airflow characteristics for consistent engine performance.
Fits:
Porsche 996 Turbo 2000 - 2005
Porsche 996 GT3 1999 - 2005
Porsche 996 GT2 2000 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 GT3 2007 - 2009
Porsche 997.2 GT3 2010 - 2011 (Not for RS)
Diagram ref no 2
Replacement engine air filter produced to OE standards, meaning it closely replicates the original Porsche factory filter in dimensions, sealing surfaces, filter media, and airflow behaviour. It installs directly into the factory airbox with no modification required and provides dependable performance for routine maintenance or replacement.
The pleated filter media is engineered to trap dust, dirt, pollen, and fine airborne contaminants while maintaining the airflow needed for efficient combustion. OE Match quality ensures compatibility and performance comparable to the original part.
The engine air filter’s primary role is to clean incoming air before it enters the engine. Unfiltered air can carry abrasive particles that may cause premature wear to internal components such as pistons, valves, and cylinder walls. By capturing contaminants while allowing clean air to flow freely, the OE Match air filter helps:
• Protect internal engine components
• Maintain proper air-to-fuel ratios
• Support smooth throttle response and power delivery
• Preserve engine efficiency and reliability
Replacing a worn or clogged filter restores proper airflow and helps keep the engine operating close to factory parameters.
Air filters naturally become clogged over time as they trap contaminants. A restricted filter can reduce airflow, affecting engine efficiency and performance. Symptoms of a worn air filter may include:
• Reduced throttle response
• Increased fuel consumption
• Restricted intake airflow
• Increased engine wear from poor filtration
Installing a fresh OE Match air filter restores clean airflow and effective filtration, supporting continued engine protection and performance.
Replace the air filter if any of the following apply:
• Visible dirt, dust, or discoloration on the filter media
• Reduced engine responsiveness
• Higher fuel consumption
• Scheduled service interval reached
• Frequent driving in dusty or polluted environments
Regular inspection and timely replacement help maintain optimal engine health.
