What This Product Does
The dampers regulate rear suspension movement as the wheels travel over uneven surfaces. Their electronic control compatibility allows the factory PASM system to manage damping, while the top mounts provide the upper connection between each damper assembly and the body.
Functions
- Controls rear suspension oscillation.
- Works with the existing PASM damping controls.
- Connects the rear damper assemblies through their upper mounts.

Symptoms of Fault
- Repeated rear bouncing after road impacts.
- Oil seepage from a damper body.
- Knocking around the rear suspension mounts.
- Uneven rear tyre wear or an unsettled ride.
- PASM warnings or unexpected changes in damping response.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing worn rear dampers together avoids combining different wear levels across the axle. Including top mounts allows these associated connections to be renewed during the same repair. Confirm the source of any noise or electronic fault first: bushes, links, wiring and connectors can produce symptoms similar to damper failure.
FAQs
Is this package intended for PASM-equipped cars?
Yes. The supplied application specifies electronic damper control, option I475.
Are top mounts included?
Yes. The package comprises two rear shock absorbers and top mounts.
Will replacement resolve every PASM warning?
No. A warning caused by wiring, connectors or another system component requires separate diagnosis.
Should alignment be checked afterwards?
Arrange a geometry check following suspension work, with adjustment where required.
