Information
Automatic Transmission Oil Pan (Gearbox Sump).
OE Match replacement transmission oil pan (also known as the gearbox sump) designed to fit the eight-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission used in certain Porsche Cayenne 958 and Porsche Panamera 970 models. This component forms the lower reservoir of the automatic transmission, providing a sealed chamber for transmission fluid and a mounting point for the transmission filter.
Fits:
Porsche 958 Cayenne 2011 - 2018
with 8-speed automatic gearbox for all-wheel drive (option code: G1G)
Porsche 970.1 Panamera 2010 - 16 Tiptronic models*
Diagram ref. 37.
*NOTE: Unlike the Cayenne, the 970 Panamera could be equipped with Porsche's 7-speed PDK transmission (PR 250). Please note that this sump is compatible only with Tiptronic models and is not suitable for PDK-equipped vehicles. To confirm which transmission your vehicle has, look at the gear selector stem: models with PDK will have "PDK" etched into the stem, while Tiptronic models do not feature this marking. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your vehicle's VIN number for confirmation.
The transmission oil pan provides a sealed reservoir for the automatic transmission fluid (ATF). It serves as the lower enclosure of the transmission’s lubrication system, holding fluid at the correct level and protecting it from contamination. The pan also provides a mounting surface for the transmission fluid filter and drain plug (where equipped), and plays a role in cooling and fluid circulation. Proper fluid containment and cleanliness are essential for transmission longevity and optimal shifting performance.
Function:
• Fluid reservoir: Holds automatic transmission fluid to ensure the pump always has supply
• Protection: Shields internal transmission components from external debris
• Mounting base: Provides attachment points for the transmission filter and sensors
• Heat dissipation: Helps moderate ATF temperature by exposing fluid to airflow under the vehicle
A damaged, corroded, or leaking oil pan can lead to loss of fluid, overheating, poor shifting performance, and even transmission failure if not addressed promptly.
The automatic transmission oil pan plays a critical role in maintaining proper ATF level and protecting the transmission’s internal hydraulic and mechanical components. Over time, the pan may suffer from:
• Corrosion, especially in areas exposed to road salt and moisture
• Dents or impact damage from debris or rough terrain
• Leaking seals or gaskets that allow fluid to escape
• Contamination from metal shavings or sludge
A leaking or compromised oil pan can result in low transmission fluid levels, leading to slipping, harsh shifts, overheating, and ultimately premature transmission wear or failure. Replacing the oil pan with a quality OE Match unit restores proper fluid containment and transmission health.
When to replace. Replace this transmission oil pan when:
• You observe ATF leaks under the vehicle
• The pan shows visible damage or corrosion
• Transmission service requires filter replacement or access to internal components
• You’re performing a full transmission fluid and filter service
• Diagnostic checks indicate fluid contamination or low level issues

Millers Oil Fully synthetic NANODRIVE CRX 75w90 NT+ Transmission Oil
DESCRIPTION:
A competition fully synthetic transmission oil formulated using a unique combination of improved chemistry and lower friction NANODRIVE additives to massively reduce friction vs a standard oil. The Millers Oils range of competition gear oils is fully synthetic and incorporates second generation NANODRIVE low friction technology to achieve winning results in both professional and nonprofessional racing.
APPLICATION:
Designed for the lubrication of competition gearboxes. Manual transmissions, synchromesh, non-synchromesh, sequential gearboxes, transfer gearboxes, transaxles and hypoid differentials without limited slip which require API GL4 or GL5 performance. Recommended for modern transmissions where fully synthetic oil is specified, especially for high performance road and track day applications. Hewland, Xtrac, Glebe Transmissions, ZF, Tran X, Elite Transmissions, Samsonas.
Note: Not suitable for plate type limited slip differentials, instead use CRX LS 75w90 NT+.
USER BENEFITS:
• Laboratory tests and results show up to a further 15% reduction in friction and up to a further 17% reduction in wear over the previous award winning NT range
• Exceptional cold flow properties for easier gear changes
• Fast lubrication flow to component extremes on start up
• Very good oxidation resistance and superior thermal stability
• Low friction/ low drag formulation to help reduce operating temperatures
• High film strength for maximum component protection
• Significantly reduces friction, temperature, wear and minimises power loss
• Triple ester formulation works synergistically for optimised film strength and anti-wear protection
• Second generation NANODRIVE low friction technology maximises torque and power
PERFORMANCE PROFILE:
• API GL4
• API GL5
• API MT-1
• MIL-PRF-2105E
• ZF TE-ML-02B
