OE Match replacement transmission oil pan (also known as the gearbox sump) designed to fit the eight-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission used in certain Porsche Cayenne 958 and Porsche Panamera 970 models. This component forms the lower reservoir of the automatic transmission, providing a sealed chamber for transmission fluid and a mounting point for the transmission filter.

*NOTE: Unlike the Cayenne, the 970 Panamera could be equipped with Porsche's 7-speed PDK transmission (PR 250). Please note that this sump is compatible only with Tiptronic models and is not suitable for PDK-equipped vehicles. To confirm which transmission your vehicle has, look at the gear selector stem: models with PDK will have "PDK" etched into the stem, while Tiptronic models do not feature this marking. The transmission oil pan provides a sealed reservoir for the automatic transmission fluid (ATF). It serves as the lower enclosure of the transmission’s lubrication system, holding fluid at the correct level and protecting it from contamination. The pan also provides a mounting surface for the transmission fluid filter and drain plug (where equipped), and plays a role in cooling and fluid circulation. Proper fluid containment and cleanliness are essential for transmission longevity and optimal shifting performance.
Function:
• Fluid reservoir: Holds automatic transmission fluid to ensure the pump always has supply
• Protection: Shields internal transmission components from external debris
• Mounting base: Provides attachment points for the transmission filter and sensors
• Heat dissipation: Helps moderate ATF temperature by exposing fluid to airflow under the vehicle
A damaged, corroded, or leaking oil pan can lead to loss of fluid, overheating, poor shifting performance, and even transmission failure if not addressed promptly.
The automatic transmission oil pan plays a critical role in maintaining proper ATF level and protecting the transmission’s internal hydraulic and mechanical components. Over time, the pan may suffer from:
• Corrosion, especially in areas exposed to road salt and moisture
• Dents or impact damage from debris or rough terrain
• Leaking seals or gaskets that allow fluid to escape
• Contamination from metal shavings or sludge

When to replace. Replace this transmission oil pan when:
