Information
Air conditioning (Air Con) evaporator blower motor and pollen filter set
incl. Expansion valve and o-ring seals.
This complete air conditioning (A/C) service kit is a comprehensive set of HVAC parts engineered to refresh or restore the climate control system on your Porsche 993. It combines key components - the OE Match evaporator core, A/C blower motors, pollen (cabin) filter, expansion valve, and essential O-ring seals - giving you everything needed for professional-grade A/C performance and leak-free refrigerant flow.
Fits:
Porsche 993 1994 - 1998
Diagram Ref No 5, 7, 34, 35, 37 and 38.
This set brings together core HVAC elements required for an efficient and reliable air conditioning system. At the centre is the OE Match A/C evaporator , the heat-exchange core that cools incoming air by removing heat from the refrigerant before it enters the cabin. Complementing it are two OE Match A/C blower motors that push air through the system, and a high-quality pollen filter that traps dust, pollen, and other airborne particles for cleaner cabin air.
The kit also includes the A/C expansion valve - a critical refrigerant metering device - along with appropriate O-ring seals to ensure tight, leak-free connections throughout the refrigerant circuit.
Kit Includes:
• OE Match A/C Evaporator – OE ref no 96457390100
• OE Match A/C Blower Motors – OE ref no 96457201501 and 96457201601
• OE Match Pollen (Cabin) Filters – OE ref no 96457201601
• OE Match A/C Expansion Valve – OE ref no 92857312305
• O-Ring Seals – OE ref no 99970743441 and 99970725141
Function
The A/C evaporator (96457390100) cools cabin airflow by absorbing heat from the incoming air via refrigerant circulation, delivering cold, comfortable air inside the vehicle.
The blower motors (96457201501 & 96457201601) generate and control airflow through the ducts and across the evaporator, ensuring you feel cool air at the vents when the A/C system is on.
The pollen (cabin) filter (99357247900) helps clean the air drawn into the cabin by removing contaminants and allergens, improving air quality and passenger comfort.
The expansion valve (92857312305) precisely meters refrigerant entering the evaporator, controlling pressure and cooling efficiency. Without proper metering, the A/C system can under-cool or freeze up.
The O-ring seals (99970743441 & 99970725141) ensure all refrigerant joints are sealed tightly, preventing loss of refrigerant and maintaining system pressure for effective cooling.
Air conditioning components degrade over time due to heat cycling, moisture exposure, and refrigerant pressure changes. A worn or failing evaporator can leak refrigerant or lose cooling capacity. Existing blower motors may weaken or fail completely, reducing airflow and cabin comfort. A clogged pollen filter restricts airflow and can circulate dust and allergens inside the cabin. Faulty expansion valves cause inefficient cooling or frost build-up, while old or hardened O-rings lead to refrigerant leaks, hurting system pressure and cooling performance.
Replacing these with quality OE Match parts and genuine seals ensures correct fit and restores the cooling system to its intended performance - keeping your cabin cool, comfortable, and leak-free all season long.
Recommend replacement if you observe:
• A/C blowing warm air or weak airflow
• Reduced or inconsistent cooling performance
• Unusual blower noise or motor failure
• Noticeable dust or odours from vents
• Moisture or leaks in evaporator area
• Difficulty maintaining A/C set temperature
• As part of a full A/C system service

Diagram Ref No 20
The expansion valve is a critical component within the air conditioning system, controlling refrigerant pressure and volume as it enters the evaporator. Over time, contamination, internal wear, corrosion, or blockage can cause the valve to malfunction, resulting in poor cooling performance, fluctuating vent temperatures, or increased strain on the compressor. This OE Match replacement restores correct refrigerant flow and helps return the air conditioning system to reliable, efficient operation.
What This Product Does:
- Regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator.
- Controls refrigerant pressure for efficient cooling.
- Maintains consistent air conditioning performance.
- Helps prevent evaporator freezing.
- Protects the air conditioning compressor from excessive system load.
- Restores OE-style refrigerant control.
- Replaces worn, blocked, or faulty original expansion valves.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Weak or insufficient air conditioning cooling.
- Fluctuating vent temperatures.
- Air conditioning system freezing or icing.
- Compressor cycling excessively.
- Poor refrigerant flow through the system.
- Reduced air conditioning efficiency.
- Internal blockage caused by contamination.
- Refrigerant leaks around the valve.
- Increased compressor load or unusual operating behaviour.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The air conditioning expansion valve is essential for maintaining the correct refrigerant flow and pressure throughout the air conditioning system. A faulty or restricted valve can significantly reduce cooling performance, increase compressor wear, and lead to inefficient system operation.
- Replacing a worn expansion valve restores efficient refrigerant control, improves cooling performance, and helps protect expensive air conditioning components from premature failure. Manufactured to OE-style specifications, this OE Match replacement provides the correct fit, dependable operation, and long-lasting durability, making it an essential component for maintaining your Porsche's climate control system.
