A correctly sealed CV joint is essential for smooth and reliable drivetrain operation. If the existing boot becomes cracked, split or damaged, grease can escape and contamination can enter the joint, potentially resulting in accelerated wear and eventual CV joint or driveshaft failure.
Manufactured from durable NBR nitrile rubber, this GKN boot is designed to withstand the movement, grease exposure and demanding operating environment found around the Porsche drivetrain.
Why Replace a Damaged CV Boot?
The CV boot is flexible so that it can move with the driveshaft while maintaining a sealed environment around the CV joint. With age and mileage, the boot can deteriorate due to repeated flexing, heat and exposure to road conditions.
