For classic 911 (964 and 993 generation) owners who decide to remove their radio, finding a storage solution that blends seamlessly with the interior design has been impossible. The best available option so far has been a cover plate, which unfortunately renders the space useless. Given that 911s are compact cars, every bit of additional storage is highly valued.
The radio delete pocket is here to solve this problem. It is specifically designed to fit perfectly into the radio cavity, aligning flawlessly with the air control panel trim. This pocket is crafted from PA12 nylon, a material known for its durability and resistance to heat, chemicals, and wear. Its finish texture matches typical car plastic parts, ensuring it looks like an original feature of your 911.
Inside dimensions of the pocket:
• Width: 177mm / 6,95"
• Height: 44mm / 1,73"
• Depth: 102mm / 4" (deep enough to hold phone, but not too deep to make it hard pull items out)
Installation requires to slide the pocket in the opening then slide 4 retaining blocks (3 bottom / 1 top) from the back of the pocket into the guides.
Role of the blocks is to securely attached the pocket against the metal dash. After those are in place use thin needle or nail to align the nuts inside the blocks with the holes in the pocket. Lastly fasten everything with 7 screws (this needs to be done inside of the pocket so best is to use philips head screwdriver attachment, finger tight should be enough, do not over tighten those.
