A Quick Look at NPR
NPR information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where NPR is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Typical reasons people replace these parts include restoring compression, reducing oil consumption, and supporting a proper engine rebuild rather than a short-term fix.
- Common symptoms of wear can be oil burning, low compression, blow-by, excessive crankcase pressure, and poor performance when wear is advanced.
- Practical tips: inspect cylinder and bore condition carefully, confirm ring gaps and bore finish, and keep assembly meticulously clean to avoid repeat issues.

Gearbox / Transmission — You change gearbox and transmission components when you have shifting issues, noise, leaks, or you’re refreshing a high-mileage drivetrain. This can range from clutches and linkages to complete units, helping keep your Porsche engaging gears cleanly and reliably where listed.
- Before assuming the gearbox is at fault, rule out clutch, mounts, linkage, and oil issues, as these can mimic internal gearbox problems.
- Using the correct specification transmission oil and changing it as a first step can sometimes improve shift quality and help diagnosis.
Gearbox Parts — Gearbox parts are typically replaced to address internal wear such as tired bearings, synchros, and seals, or during a full rebuild after noise or shifting issues. For Porsche applications, selecting quality components and correct tolerances supports long-term reliability where these parts are specified.
- Consider whether a rebuild or replacement gearbox best suits your car, budget, and originality requirements.
- Use the correct oil specification, as unsuitable oil can worsen synchro performance and overall shift feel.
Gearbox Gears / Crown Wheel and Pinion — These precision components are changed when gear teeth show wear or damage, when there is noise from the final drive, or when altering ratios for performance or motorsport use. Correct matching and setup is essential to maintain quiet running and durability.
- Paired gears and final drive components must be correctly matched and set up; incorrect backlash or preload can lead to rapid wear.
- Ratio changes may affect speedometer readings depending on how the car measures road speed.
Rear Differential — Rear differentials are replaced or rebuilt to fix noise, leaks, or excessive play, or to upgrade for better traction and torque handling. On Porsche models, a healthy differential improves smoothness, stability, and power delivery where fitted.
- Fresh, correct-specification differential oil may reduce noise if the previous oil was old or incorrect, but it will not cure significant bearing or gear wear.
- When diagnosing noises or driveline “clunks”, also check diff mounts, propshaft and CV joints, and gearbox mounts.

No Politics Racings (NPR) limited slip differential are the pinnacle in high-speed track and racing applications specifically designed to increase grip and decrease lap times.
Our LSDs provide lock-up on both acceleration and deceleration which can be adjusted by using our exclusive dual ramp design allowing for numerous lock-up percentages to be utilized depending on track conditions and car configuration. Multiple friction disc and plain plate configurations are possible with our standard configuration being 4 friction discs and 4 plain discs and our Torque Flow model being 6 plain discs and 6 friction discs.
NPR’s aerospace technology friction discs dramatically increase the useful life of our LSDs compared to OEM versions. All vital areas of NPR LSDs are high precision ground and shot-peened for added strength and durability then, finished with an Isotropic Super Finish (REM).
