Eventuri was founded by a team of engineers and enthusiasts with a background in Aeronautics and tuning – all sharing a passion for cars and performance.
After owning various intakes over many years for our own cars and being disappointed with the gains which seldom lived up to their claims – we decided to take things into our own hands and rewrite the book. To set a new benchmark in intake design and technology, above all – to engineer Porsche systems which provide real gains and then to publish genuine figures.

The Eventuri intake system, carbon.

The Eventuri 4.0TFSI V8 intake system consists of a number of components engineered to perform a specific purpose and fabricated to the highest of standards. We use 100% pre-preg carbon fiber with no fibreglass which means we can achieve a smooth internal surface to maintain smoother airflow. Here are the details for each component and the design ethos behind them:

ENLARGED AIRBOX LID
The first constraint we had to overcome in order to dramatically increase the overall volume of the intake was the airbox lid. The stock lid leaves a shallow opening for the flow collector and also restricts the filtration medium being used. By creating a raised portion in the middle of the lid we are able to create more space for a larger flow collector and also for larger filters. The lid is made from prepreg carbon fibre and uses the same mounting points as the stock lid.
CARBON FLOW COLLECTOR & FILTERS
Directing the airflow from the filters to the turbo inlets is the flow collector. The stock one is constricted in size due to the stock lid but having removed that restriction, we were able to dramatically increase the volume of our version. In addition, this also gave us the freedom to replace the stock filter with higher flowing cone filters which also have a larger total surface area.
TURBO INLETS
The biggest restriction in the stock system are the turbo inlets. The stock inlets not only are small in size but they also have 2 flexible sections. The flexible section immediately in front of the turbo creates turbulence as the engine moves under acceleration. To combat this, the stock inlets also have flow guides at the exit of the inlets but these also create a restriction. We removed the first flexible section which also meant that we could increase the internal volume. By increasing the inlet sizes, the turbos are able to pull in air with less restriction hence allowing for a quicker spool. In the following photos you can see the differences in the sizes.
We could have finalised the designs here however, we wanted to push the boundaries further and introduce a novel dimpled pattern to the inside surfaces. In theory, small dimples can increase the flow rate by reducing the frictional pressure losses through a tube. We have explained this in detail in our video for the G80 M3 intake which can be found HERE.
A lot of R&D went into simulating different sizes and shapes until we settled on an optimised version which demonstrated a higher flow rate through the inlets in comparison with a smooth surface. Applying such an intricate was only possible due to the advanced manufacturing technique we employed to make the inlets, where traditional methods would not have given the accuracy required. The dimples create an "air cushion" affect over the surface of the inlet which then allows the main body of air to "slip" with less friction through the body into the turbo. This results in a more even velocity profile in a dimpled tube with the net affect being a higher velocity for the same boundary conditions. Here are the CFD simulations showing the re-circulations in the dimples and the higher velocity in the dimpled tube.

The 991 GT3 RS Filter Housing comprises of 2 bespoke high flow filters, aluminium cowls, laser cut brackets and the carbon pod itself. The carbon pod shrouds the reverse mounted filters and smoothly shapes the airflow down to the throttle body. This smooth reduction in cross sectional area invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system. Further details can be read in the Technology page.
BESPOKE CONE FILTER
In order to achieve the highest flow rate possible we designed a filter element to make as much use of the space available in the engine bay as possible. This new filter has an outside diameter of 192mm or 7.6" and when flow tested with a housing using a 4" opening is able to flow up to 900 CFM at 28" H2O. The filter medium is ISO tested to ensure that filtration is in line with OEM standards and is also dry. The filter is constructed with our signature flow cones to aid in the Venturi housing principle.
CARBON DUCTS
The ducts channels ambient air from the side vents to the filter housing. In order to ensure a good seal against engine bay heat - they are secured to the filter housing at 3 points and use a neoprene gasket for an airtight seal . The ducts were designed to have the maximum internal volume possible within the given geometry of the engine bay. This ensures that the filter housing is able to draw with minimum restriction.
SILICON COUPLER
Our silicon coupler replaces the stock flexible tube to the throttle body. It matches the OEM throttle body with an internal step to ensure smooth flow.

The 991 Turbo Eventuri intake system was developed through extensive real world testing with the aim of allowing the turbos to work more efficiently. By replacing the single stock airbox with individual patented Venturi filter housings, the turbos are able to spool and generate boost with less drag. As a result, the wastegate duty cycles are reduced resulting in peak boost at lower RPM and therefore performance is increased. The two individual filters provide a larger filtration area as compared to the single stock panel filter. Furthermore, in order to keep inlet air temperatures down, the Venturi housings are sealed against an air duct which draws ambient air from the same location as the stock system. Since the 911 Turbo engine bay is densely packed, high IATs can only be avoided by ensuring a fully sealed intake system. The combination of a smoother airflow path to each turbo with low IATs results in higher performance and a sharper throttle response over the stock airbox.
The Eventuri Difference
The 911 Turbo Eventuri system uses our Patented Carbon Fibre Housings with our Gen 2 bespoke filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi affect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce the drag on the turbo.

INTAKE HOUSING ASSEMBLY
The filter housings comprise of our bespoke generation 2 filters, aluminium inlet cowls, the carbon pods and integrated tubes. The carbon pods shroud the reverse mounted filters and smoothly shape the airflow down to the stock turbo inlet tubes. By separating the inlet path and having a dedicated filter for each turbo, the intake allows the turbos to function more efficiently. Crucially, the Venturi housings organically extend with a smooth curve from the filter opening to the stock turbo tubing. This ensures that the airflow remains as smooth as possible throughout the system. Smooth airflow results in less drag and therefore the turbos can reach peak boost sooner in the RPM range. It also means that the throttle response feels sharper.
PATENTED TECHNOLOGY
Our patented filter housings have a smooth reduction in cross sectional area as they shroud the filters and taper down to the tubing. This geometry invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system. Our bespoke filters aid the airflow moving through the housings and allow for an even velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings.
INTAKE DUCT
The intake duct seals against the underside of the boot-lid using the stock rubber cushion and then extends down to seal against the filter housings. Crafted from 100% prepreg carbon fiber the intake duct ensures that the intake pulls in ambient air only and not heated engine bay air. Again in order to maximise flow efficiency the transition from the circular openings for the filter housings to the single air entry point is as smooth as possible. The duct also features 2 drain tubes which direct water away from the filters. The tubes are designed such that the intakes will draw a minimum amount of air from within the engine bay due to the larger flow resistance in the tubes as compared to the opening at the top of the duct. The complex geometry of the duct was necessary to clear the various components in the engine bay of the 991 Turbo.
BRACKET WORK
The brackets are laser cut from stainless steel and powder coated. We went to great lengths to ensure that the intakes have a precision fitment using the stock airbox mounting locations. The brackets not only brace the intakes to the chassis but also allow engine components to be secured as they are with the stock airbox. In order to save weight, each bracket has purposely shaped cutouts which remove material yet allow the overall structure to remain rigid.
The complete system comes together to provide an audible and noticeable performance improvement over the stock airbox system.
