Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where Auto Light Systems is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Typical reasons to replace include dim output, condensation in the housing, cracked lenses, or warning lights from bulbs, ballasts, or control units.
- Common symptoms are flickering, reduced visibility, intermittent operation, and moisture or fogging inside the lamp unit.
- Before replacing major lighting units, check connectors, earth points, and seals for corrosion or poor contact.
- If upgrading to LED, ensure the parts are compatible and maintain a correct beam pattern to avoid glare or MOT issues.

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.
Electrical & Relays — Electrical parts and relays support key Porsche systems such as starting, lighting, fuel delivery, and safety functions. They are typically replaced when faults become intermittent, safety-critical circuits stop working, or diagnosis traces a no-start or no-power issue to a relay, switch, or protection component, especially where better-sealed or higher quality parts are preferred.
- Check fuse ratings and condition, relay seating, connector corrosion, and earth points before condemning a component.
- A relay can click yet still be faulty if the internal contacts are worn or resistive.
Dashboard / Console Parts & Switches — Dashboard and console switches control functions such as lighting, HVAC, audio, hazards, and comfort features in your Porsche. They are replaced when buttons become unresponsive or intermittent, illumination fails, or plastics and coatings wear or break, helping to restore reliable control and a tidy interior appearance.
- If a function only works when pressing harder or at an angle, suspect worn switch contacts rather than wiring.
- Always confirm power, ground, and connector condition before assuming the switch itself has failed.
Interior & Accessories — Interior parts and accessories are used to refresh worn touch points, repair broken trim, or add practical or cosmetic upgrades inside your Porsche. Replacements are common when plastics become brittle, surfaces wear or fade, clips break, or when owners want improved storage, comfort, or protection while keeping the car’s character intact.
- Model-year specific interior parts are often required, as small changes in clips, colours, or textures can affect fitment.
- Use suitable trim tools and renew missing or damaged clips to avoid introducing new rattles.
Dashboard Parts — Dashboard components such as panels, vents, bezels, and mounts help maintain structure, appearance, and function in your Porsche’s cockpit. They are typically replaced when plastics crack, coatings become sticky, vents or mounts break, or rattles and misalignment develop due to age, UV exposure, or previous work behind the dash.
- Work methodically when removing dashboard parts and label connectors, as many plugs and fasteners are similar and hidden.
- Colour and texture variations mean dash parts usually need to be matched carefully to the original interior.

Bring the comfort and convenience of modern automatic headlight switching to your 987, 997 or early Cayenne with this homologated Pro Auto Light System.
After simple DIY installation, your driving light (low beam headlamp), cabin instruments and PCCM night mode are switched on and off automatically - irrespective of ambient brightness - at dusk, dawn and in sudden darkness such as traveling through tunnels.
Simply leave the headlight switch in the "home" position.
Additionally, a high speed driving function is detected by the built in GPS, triggering the low beam lights to activate at speeds past 50mph and turned off at speeds below 38mph after two minutes (providing conditions permit)
The low beam, instruments and PCM** night mode are switched on automatically in the following situations:
• Dusk/Darkness/Dawn
• Traveling through tunnels
• High speed driving**
Whats in the box
• PALS Light & Speed Sensor
• PALS Motherboard Connector
• PALS Mounting tool
**: if PCM Porshe Communication Management "night mode" option is activated.
***: Note that during daylight, PCM** will always stay in day mode and instrument lights will always stay off.
This unit conforms to all current EU automotive safety legislation and has been homologated in the UK
